T-Mobile Motorola Cliq 2 Spotted at USPTO

The rumored Motorola Cliq 2, the follow up to T-Mobile’s Motorola Cliq, has been spotted at a  government office, no not the FCC but the US Patent and Trade Mark Office.

It was reported earlier this fall that we may see the Motorola Cliq 2 as early as November 1, 2010 but it looks like that didn’t happen.  The trademark “Cliq 2” is in front of the USPTO seeking challenges. Before a trademark is approved the UPSTO makes sure no one is going to challenge the mark.

The Motorola Cliq was the debut device for Motoblur which at the time seemed like a really awesome idea. Despite the jabs blur gets from the more experienced Android community, the service has 4million users. (For more on Blur click here) The Motorola Cliq was a tmobile exclusive franchise phone and as it geared up for release everyone was talking about it, and then talking on it.

The Cliq 2 is reported to have Android 2.2 with motoblur and a unique gapless keyboard.  The Motorola Cliq was released a little over a year ago. Motorola took the keyboard off and released the Motorola Cliq XT a few months later.

There is no date for release of the Motorola Cliq but T-Mobile almost always uses all it’s cleared marks.
