Introduction to Android: Setting Up Motoblur

We recently revisited the original 3 Introduction to Android videos by Android Renaissance Man, Russell Holly, also host of Breakfast with Andy every Sunday morning on

In those videos we gave first time Android users a look at things like Settings, Widget and the App Market.  It’s the holiday season and there will be hundreds of thousands of new Android users by the end of the month. A lot of them will be using a phone with Motorola’s custom user interface (UI) Motoblur.

According to Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha there are some 4 million people using Motoblur.  For a more experienced Android user Motoblur may not be so appealing however to a new user the social networking opportunities found in Motoblur can be useful, in fact they are very easy to use.

The latest installment of Motoblur allows you to use as much or as little of it as possible.  The biggest feature is the aggregation of your social media feeds from top sites like Facebook, Twitter and Myspace, you see all your updates in one display and have the ability to post to everything with one post and one click.

Not sure if your phone has Motoblur or do you want to get one with Motoblur here is the complete list of Motoblur enabled phones:

Motorola Bravo (AT&T)
Motorola Flipside (AT&T)
Motorola Flipout (AT&T)
Motorola Citrus (Verizon)
Motorola Defy (T-Mobile)
Motorola Charm (T-Mobile)
