Woz Believes Android Will Become The Top Mobile Platform

This must have Steve Jobs fuming mad…

In an interview with De Telegraaf, a newspaper in the Netherlands, Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, praised Google’s Android platform.

While Wozniak feels the iPhone is the leader when it comes to quality, he also feels that Android offers “more features” and “more choice”.  Woz, is he is affectionately known, also revealed that Apple almost brought a smartphone to market in 2004 with a Japanese company. Apple axed that plan because they wanted to develop something that amazed the world in the same way the iPod did.

In his comments about Android Woz felt that the Android OS would dominate the phone world the way Windows dominated the PC world.  When asked about Nokia and Symbian, Wozniak said it was a “brand from a previous generation”
