Verizon to begin rolling out Froyo for Droid Incredible Wednesday?

PC World via Mashable are reporting that owners of the HTC Droid Incredible will begin seeing the froyo (Android 2.2) update as early as Wednesday. Keep in mind Verizon typically rolls their OTA updates out in shifts and over a cycle but if Mashable’s sources are correct then Wednesday is the day that Droid Incredible users will be able to start tasting the froyo.

This comes as great news for HTC Droid Incredible users, you may remember that some people waited weeks if not months to get their hands on the shiny and worth the wait, Droid Incredible. It’s sleek and small form factor coupled with the then AMOLED screen provide for an unparalleled Android experience at that size. The HTC Droid Incredible was one of the most sought after Android devices do in part to demand and problems with suppliers over the screen/display parts used in the device.

Froyo, Android 2.2, will add a great deal of functionality to the Droid Incredible. Some of the features new users to Android love about Froyo are the ability to change gmail accounts while composing a message, Update all for Android applications and the upcoming full integration with Adobe’s Flash technology.  Froyo also allows for wifi tethering within the build out however Motorola Droid X customers had that feature built into their devices even though they run 2.1

The newest member of the Verizon “Droid” family, the Droid 2, is the first Android handset to ship with Froyo 2.2 already on board. Our first quick look at the Droid 2 video is rendering right this second.

We are hopeful that Verizon, Google, Motorola and Adobe have all the kinks worked out so we aren’t jumping the gun on this hopeful release news for HTC Droid Incredible users.
