When we got the invitation to the Motorola/Verizon event last week in New York City we were actually expecting to hear about two devices, the Droid X and the Droid 2, however once we arrived on site the event was clearly about Droid X, a very powerful, full touch machine. Specs, photos and actually hands on reviews have been seen online, including at androidandme.com of the Droid 2. The Droid 2 is expected to be the actual “Droid” replacement (as in the one released last November) It’s also expected that the Droid 2 will be the first handset to roll Android 2.2 “Froyo” out of the box.
Verizon and Motorola have stated since day one of Droid X that it will receive an update to Froyo in the “late Summer” so as Androidandme.com suggests, this phone is poised to be the first phone with 2.2
