Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 fix the issues that they are experiencing with their phone. Today we will tackle the Galaxy S8 is not booting up issue. One of our readers sent us this particular issue which we will be resolving.

S8 Is Not Booting Up

Problem: I have Samsung Galaxy S8 (bought in Nov 2017), which is not booting up. There is no fall/water damage to it, last week some system update notification came, so i let it update the software. Post update it worked fine for a day, and then turned off all of a sudden. I’ll let its battery drain and then plugged in charger, then it is displaying Samsung logo with some text at the top left screen like “RPMB fuse blown RPMB Unexpected exception… on holding “power + vol dn + bixby” it gives the option to go into ‘download mode’ or restart but on selecting the restart option, it starts booting but just hangs at the Samsung logo. I am just wondering whether to install new firmware on it or there is some less complex solution to this problem. Thanks in advance

Related Problem: Hi I’m a facing issues while turning on my mobile once i restart. it restarts but within few seconds the screen is black and again i have to restart. but if i press the power button it starts but again within few seconds it turns off and the screen is black

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If after the reset the phone still does not boot up then you will need to bring this to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S8 Is Unresponsive

Problem: Unresponsive Samsung Galaxy S8. I used it to check the news on internet when I was ready I turned the screen of and put it in the pocket. 20 minutes later the phone was hot, a red light is on and off and the screen /the whole phone/ is unresponsive. I have tried all things I could find here on the internet but no I don´t know what to do. Do you have some advise of what I can try??

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then you will need to take this out then perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by simultaneously pressing on the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the phone still remains unresponsive then I suggest that you start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Stuck On Samsung Screen

Problem: Hey Guys; I’ve had the boot loop issue in the past and fixed it with smart switch no biggie. Yesterday I had what I thought was the same thing but now I’m stuck on the “samsung S8 powered by android” page after my phone froze while playing a game. I did a restart using power+ down and it got stuck on this screen and wont proceed to the samsung logo. I can get in download but not recovery. When in download Odin will read the phone but windows 10 and smart switch 4.2.xxx will not even after usb driver update.  Odin will not flash factory firmware nor can I get a custom on there due to FRP lock. I am completely at a loss at this point and am stuck using a old Nokia. I would love some help please

Solution: Since you are unable to access the recovery mode and you are also unable to flash the phone then it’s very likely that this is a hardware related problem already. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
