Meizu has officially announced the MX4 smartphone today, packing a relatively high end specs sheet. Sadly, there’s no 2K display here, so customers will have to make do with a 1080p panel instead. This is no surprise considering that 2K displays are still relatively new as far as the technology is concerned, so it will take time to become more streamline. But barring that, the Meizu MX4 packs a pretty solid specs sheet, including a high end MediaTek MT6595 octa core chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16, 32 or 64GB of storage and Android 4.4.4...

The recently announced Samsung Gear S smartwatch will be launched in a special edition variant packing Swarovski crystals. The strap of the smartwatch uses Swarovski’s Crystal Fine Mesh technology, adding that extra bit of bling to the device. Underneath, the Swarovski version of the Gear S is pretty much the same as the regular variant, so it’s only a visual overhaul. There’s no word on the pricing at the moment, but we expect it to be slightly more expensive than the standard Gear S. Samsung hasn’t fully disclosed...

Whether you consider them to be in poor taste, a passing fad or a key element of today’s pop culture, selfies are unquestionably at the peak of their popularity. The most retweeted image ever is a self-portrait photograph of a cluster of celebrities, the Oxford English Dictionary awarded the term, which wasn’t previously listed in the glossary, the 2013 word of the year prize, and yes, even Russian dictator Vladimir Putin occasionally strikes a selfie pose. Not to mention the leader of the free world, who infamously made waves with...

A new leak has revealed the alleged keyboard case from the Nexus 9 tablet. An image from the patent filing reveals two separate parts of the case, one which would cover the device and the other which would act as a standalone keyboard. The filing also reveals that the keyboard will be powered by Bluetooth 4.0 and have its very own 450 mAh battery, so it won’t require the device to power itself. The case has a charging port on the side near the hinges, while there’s an LED indicator on the other side. It’s quite similar...

Sony is expected to show off the Xperia Z3 as well as the Z3 Compact smartphone in an event scheduled for tomorrow. A new leak from today is giving us a closer look of the latter, revealing all the color variants of the handset. From what we can see here, the smartphone will be available in blue/mint, red, white and black models. In terms of size, the Xperia Z3 Compact looks pretty petite as it should be. The boxy design appears to have attributed to the overall thickness of the device as we can clearly see from one of the images....

It’s common knowledge by now that the Sony Xperia Z3 will be shown off at the company’s keynote address on the 4th of September. Most leaks and rumors of the smartphone have hinted that the device would be no different from the predecessor in terms of hardware. But it seems like the company will have at least one major change on board according to a teaser posted by the company’s Twitter page. The image above was accompanied by the words “We’ll be getting deep at #IFA2014. But how deep…?” clearly indicating...

We’ve been speculating about the launch and hardware of the Moto X successor for quite a few months now. And all this while, we were under the impression that the device would be known as the Moto X+1. However, a leaked Verizon document contradicts this theory by mentioning the upcoming Motorola flagship as the “The new Moto X”. This makes sense as we’ve only recently encountered a Moto G leak which suggested a similar naming pattern for the handset. Going by this, it’s fair to assume that we will be looking...

We’ve seen smartwatches and even smaller mobile companion accessories launching in the market. But the MOTA SmartRing takes the cake for being the smallest of them all as it fits right into your finger. The idea is to provide notifications to the users right at their fingertips (quite literally) and offer the liberty to view or dismiss them at their convenience. As you can see from the image above, the SmartRing doesn’t have a large screen real estate, which is understandable as it is meant to slot into your finger. But...
