3. In the command prompt window type the following in order followed by pressing the Enter key.

5. Type net stop wuauserv followed by pressing the Enter key.
6. Type net stop appidsvc followed by pressing the Enter key
7. Type net stop msiserver followed by pressing the Enter key
8. Type ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old followed by pressing the Enter key
9. Type ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old followed by pressing the Enter key
10. Type net start bits followed by pressing the Enter key
11. Type net start wuauserv followed by pressing the Enter key
12. Type net start appidsvc followed by pressing the Enter key
13. Type net start msiserver followed by pressing the Enter key
14. Close the command prompt
15. Restart your computer.

After computer completely reboots, check if NET HELPMSG 2182 Error still occurs..

Method 3: Run SFC Scan

SFC (System File Checker) scan is a useful tool that scans and search your computer system files for any corrupted or missing files and try to repair them.

Here’s how to run the SFC tool:

1. At the search box located at the lower left, type Command Prompt
2. Right click on the Command Prompt result and click on Run as Administrator from the drop down menu.
3. Type the following command and then press Enter
4. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Scanning for corrupted or missing files will begin. Make sure not to abort and just wait for it complete.

Method 4: RUN BITS Troubleshooter to fix NET HELPMSG 2182

5. Select Background Intelligent Transfer Service and double click on it. A new window opens.
6. Click on Next. Windows will now search and detect problems.
7. After troubleshooting process is complete and it could not identify any problem, click on Close to exit. If a problem is detected, it will display recommended solutions to fix it.

Method 5: Check for available updates
