S7 Edge Can’t Get Out Of Recovery Mode

Problem: Last night, I attempted to wipe cache partition on my galaxy s7 edge. Now, I cannot get it out of Android recovery. It shifts between options by itself and I have NO idea of how to fix it. When I highlight reboot system now and press power button, the option turns green, but doesn’t do anything. I am frustrated beyond belief and would truly appreciate your help!!! PLEASE NOTE: I do not know which Android version I have

Solution: Have you tried pressing the power button for at least 10 seconds? This will simulate a battery pull and should restart your phone. Another way of doing this which most people say works is by pressing the power button, volume down button, and home button simultaneously to restart the phone.

If your phone still remains in recovery mode then you should wait for the battery to be drained as this will surely turn off the phone. Once the phone is off charge it for at least 20 minutes before turning it back on again.

In case the phone gets stuck in recovery mode when you turn it on again then you will need to have this checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S7 Edge Freezes Not Turning On

Problem: hi thedroidguy. my s7 edge just froze again. well i’m just using fb this morning then it froze and i restarted it twice but on the 3rd attempt it didn’t turn it on.. please help me. its charging but its unresponsive. the last time i checked it was 90%. thanks!

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then it’s possible that the card is causing the problem especially if it has corrupted sectors. What you will want to do is to remove this card then check if you still experience the same issue with your phone.

You also mentioned that your phone is charging but then it is unresponsive. What you will want to do in this case is to try holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. This procedure simulates a battery pull and should restart your phone. Should this fail to work then your other option is to start the phone in recovery mode. If your phone starts in this mode then you should do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Charges But Not Turning On

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will charge for hours and hours (the icon that says it is charging is on) yet my phone won’t turn on or even show what percent it is charged. The screen is black with the charging symbol on it so I know that it is charging, but it won’t show what percent it is charging and won’t start up it’s OS.

Solution:  What you will want to do in this case is to make sure that the phone is indeed charging by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck  in this port is removed.
  • Try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord then turn on your phone.
  • Try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different wall charger then turn on your phone.
  • If the phone is still unresponsive then try charging it from a computer USB port for at least 20 minutes then turn it on.

In case the phone still doesn’t respond then proceed with the following steps listed below.

  • Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
  • Try starting the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then you have to do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the issue still persists at this point then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Is Very Hot

Problem: S7 edge was very hot and phone crashed while ringing with a strange noise. The screen had a lot of lines horizontally. The screen went black and i could not switch off the phone. I followed the procedure to reboot phone however been having same issue each time charging phone.

Solution: The fact that your phone gets very hot makes this a very dangerous issue as the phone could catch fire Did you drop your phone recently? The issues that you described appears to be caused by the hardware, which could include the battery and the display, being damaged. The best way to proceed in this case is to make sure that the phone is off then have it checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Keeps On Freezing

Problem: I have the Galaxy S7 edge.  I could be in e-mail, facebook or even google after a while I get thrown out to the home page and then it wont let me doing anything it freezes for a while. I shut it down and then get it up again. How can I fix this issue? Thank you

Solution: If your phone keeps on freezing then the first thing that you need to do is to remove the microSD card ( if your phone has one installed) then check if the issue still occurs. If your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after removing the card then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Not Turning On After Software Update

Problem: My phone won’t turn on after the software update. I left my phone to install the update and now the screen stays completely black, and nothing happens when I press the power button or try forced rebooting so I can’t do anything using the soft reboot.- Unsure of the version

Solution: Try doing a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If your phone does not turn on then connect it to its charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. If this still fails then check if you are able to access the recovery mode. From here you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If your phone remains unresponsive then you need to bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Not Turning On When Unplugged From Charger

Problem: My phone won’t turn on as soon as I unplug it from the charger. The phone just loads and goes back to the charge icon . I tried the reset the phone but didn’t work also erased my cache but still nothing happened any suggestions would be great full

Solution: It looks like the battery or the power IC of the phone is faulty. If this is the case then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
