#Samsung is one of the first companies to use Super AMOLED displays on their phone models. What makes this display technology different from the regular LED displays is that it is more energy efficient and has a higher contrast level which allows for a better color reproduction. The #Galaxy Note4 is one such device that uses this display type and although this model was released in 2014 it can still perform great. A lot of people are using this device as their reliable daily driver without experiencing any issues however some problems can still occur which we will be addressing today. Note 4 Screen Glitching With Lines

Problem: my device is glitching with lines and the phone stopped doing that now and is not on blank screen and vibrates when i press the button when i took out the battery and pressed the power button for a while then place the battery back in and cover the device and try turning it on it still doesn’t work yy?

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the device. Perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below to make sure that the battery has charge.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge you phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try using a new battery on your phone.
  • If the phone does not charge or turn on then bring it to a service center and have it checked.

Once the phone charges then it’s time to turn it on. If you are still getting the glitching lines one the screen then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the glitching prevents you from doing a factory reset then try performing this step from the recovery mode.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Screen Is Black

Problem: The screen on my Galaxy Note 4 is black….the buttons light up when any of the buttons are pressed but the screen stays black! I’ve tried taking out the battery and holding the power button for 2 mins and leaving the battery out for 10 mins and that didn’t help. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Related Problem: My Samsung note 4 screen is now black, it rings but the screen is black . Pls what do I do . Thanks.

Solution: In cases such as this the most likely culprit is a damaged display. You should however check if other factors are causing this problem by checking if the same issue occurs in recovery mode. If the screen will work in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then you will need to perform a factory reset in this mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the same issue occurs in recovery mode or if you are unable to start the phone in recovery mode then the problem is most likely caused by a damaged display. You will then have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked and possibly have the whole display assembly replaced.

Note 4 Screen Is Black After Phone Got Dropped

Problem: I dropped my note 4 and now all I get is a black screen, all my notification sounds work, my rings still but it’s just a black screen. Someone said my led light might of got knocked out when it dropped could this be the problem or does it sound like something else?

Related Problem: I dropped my phone and when I tried to turn it back one it sort of show a half green screen but I’m still getting notification LED lights and the buzz that happens when you receive a text message

Solution: There are two things that could have happened when the phone got dropped.

  • The connection between the display assembly and the phone motherboard has become loose causing the screen to black out.
  • The display got damaged by the drop.

The only troubleshooting that you can do in this particular issue is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you will have to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the screen doesn’t work even in recovery mode then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Retrieving Data When Screen Is Black

Problem: Galaxy note 4 screen is blacked out after being dropped the Phone is working fine but i need to retrieve my data, How can i do that as i am not able to see anything on the phone?

Solution: The best thing that you can do in this particular case is to connect the phone to a computer with Kies installed and running. Use Kies to backup your phone data. If this doesn’t work ( this will happen if you will need to unlock the phone screen which might be impossible to do with the condition your phone is in right now) then you will need to have the display repaired first.

Note 4 Home Button Takes Too Long To Light Up

Problem: Home button takes ages to light screen up, very annoying if on a call and screen goes dark. Can’t get it to light up quick enough to cut call.

Solution: There’s a possibility that this problem is caused by a software glitch. The first thing that you should do is to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this fails to fix the problem then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Extracting Data From Water Damaged Phone

Problem: Hi, I’m having a problem with my above cell phone. It fell out of my bag and plunged into the water-filled toilet bowl, however the entire phone didn’t get submerged, just the top part which is where the camera hole is and although I had tried putting it in rice, it didn’t fix it. I can still power it on and off, however all of the icons sitting on the screen will not respond when I touched whichever icon. Instead, after I touched any of them it gave back this message something that sums it up to it not being “operational” and that it is due to “overheating”..which is untrue as the phone is not “hot  or overheated”!  I think what little water that got into somewhere may have done some slight damage slightly? I had done some “Googling” and found 3 apps such as “EASE OF USE…”, follow everything that’s listed on various websites where they tell you to plug or connect your android Samsung to your PC then do the “Power off” thing, then hold the 3 buttons “Home” + “lower left Volume” button + “Power”, then click on “Start”……so then the phone screen showed this little “droid” man with a message “Downloading…Do not turn off target!!” I didn’t pay for any of those websites… can you recommend a website that offers FREE application to “extract” all data on this water-damaged phone? Or can you please provide any troubleshooting steps?  Many thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide. Have a nice day.

Solution: The best way you can extract the data from your phone is to connect it to a computer running Kies then use this software to backup your phone data. If this fails to work then you have no choice but to get the phone fixed at a service center first before you will be able to access the data in your phone.

Note 4 Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: What am I supposed to input here? I have a Note 4 and the screen is totally unresponsive.  All I can to activate the phone but I can’t power it OFF. Any ideas?

Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it does then try removing this as this might be causing the problem. If the issue remains then I recommend doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data. If after the reset the problem remains then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
