S7 Half Of Screen Is White

Problem: Had phone on the wireless charger, after about 20 minutes half of the screen was flickering. So I shut off power right away. Phone and screen were hot. Removed case. When it had cooled I turned it back on. It’s responsive but half the screen is blank white.

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this particular case is to check if some form of software glitch is causing the problem by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Do a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • To check if an app you installed is causing the problem start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S7 Has Shadow On Keypad Buttons

Problem: The screen had shadows of keypad buttons and the colour screen had 2 coloured tones. Darker and lighter. Pls assist me. I believed this is the LCD problems . Hope to hear frm u soon.

Solution: Try to check first if an app is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any app in your phone yet. Instead, try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the phone might be suffering from a screen burn-in. This issue is most common among phones with AMOLED displays since the light emitting diodes on this display type decays over time.

The only way to fix a display that has a burn-in issue is to have the whole display assembly replaced at a service center.

S7 Has Purple Black Blob After Phone Got Dropped

Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone and I saw that it has one white vertical line going down the left side of the screen. The touch screen wasn’t working and part of the screen has a purple-blackish blob that keeps growing. The upper left part of the screen now is almost completely covered. What happened and am I able to fix my phone or am I going to have to buy a new phone?

Solution: It appears that the display got damaged when you dropped the phone. You can still have your phone fixed by having the display assembly replaced at a service center.

S7 Right Half Of Screen Flickers

Problem: This morning, the right half of my screen will start to flicker, sometimes lock the image that was there in place.  All functionality is still there.  It will almost randomly happen.  Reset fixes it for a while, but then it starts back up very randomly and will go away.  I also noticed it does feel like the phone is getting warm while it is happening.  I’ve had the phone for about 2-3 months.  Any help would be greatly appreciated… I have cleared the cache and reset the phone.  Also have done restarts 2 or 3 times.

Solution: What you need to do first in this particular case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone first in Safe Mode. Once the phone is in this moe check if the screen still flickers. If it doesn’t then the problem is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Should the reset fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Screen Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: So recently on my vacation i dropped my phone off the top of a ruin and it cracked but when i picked it up the screen didn’t turn on but the buttons on the bottom lit up. i think it may just be the fact that the phone took some hard falls or something else…  if you have any advice that would be helpful

Solution: It’s very likely that the display has been damaged by the drop judging by the crack that it has suffered. You will need to have the display assembly replaced at a service center to fix this problem.

S7 Screen Is Black With Blue LED Light

Problem: My samsung galaxy s7 is vibrating the blue light is on and it’s receiving messages. The screen is black and won’t light up. I’ve tried everything on your site and nothing works the screen is still black

Solution: For this particular problem you should perform a simulated battery pull first by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the issue persists then try starting your phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Does Not Mirror Netflix To TV

Problem: I screen mirror everything from my galaxy s7 to my sharp roku tv. Everything has worked fine until recently when I try to open netflix and it disconnects my smart view. Hulu directv and everything else mirrors fine until late I try to open netflix. I’ve attempted to mirror netflix to different tvs and get the same result

Solution: Since the problem appears to be isolated to the Netflix app I suggest that you uninstall the app and download a fresh copy from the Google Play Store.

S7 Screen Mode Option Is Greyed Out

Problem: The adaptive display on the s7 has become too intense and hurts my eyes; however, when I go into my Display settings, the Screen Mode option is grayed-out and won’t let me click to change it; I’d used this setting when I first got the phone (about a week ago), but now it won’t let me change it. How do I fix the grayed-out button?

Solution: To fix this problem just turn off the color adjustment setting from Settings – Accessibility – Vision.
