Note 4 Software Update Keeps Repeating

Problem: I have received a brand new in box Note 4. Everything seems to be working as intended. I keep getting a message that a software update is available. I ran the update and it appeared to complete (installing 308 of 308) and reboots as it’s supposed to. After the phone finishes the reboot, I get the same message…software update available. I have ran the update several times and nothing seems to change. It still shows Marshmallow 6.0.1

Solution: There’s a chance that the updates that you keep on getting are legitimate security updates. To check if this is the case you just need to compare the current software version of your phone to the version that is available. If it is different then you should proceed with the update. Ifit is just the same then this could be caused by a software glitch. For this particular problem what you should do is to backup your phone data then wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this fails to fix the problem then you should proceed with a factory reset. Once the reset is complete the issue should be resolved.

Note 4 Randomly Turns Off After Updating To Marshmallow

Problem: Basically I have a note 4 and I have just recently updated it to version 6.0.1 and I have just found out that when my phone gets to 60-70% my phone just randomly turns off. For example, when it reaches to 60%, i’m on my phone normally going on snapchat or something and my phone just randomly turns off. I then have to take off my battery and replace it back in to turn it back on. But when it’s on, and I reclick onto another app, it switches back off again. Do you have any solutions of fixing this problem? Also my other mate who has a note 4 has this exact problem as well!

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this particular problem is to check if a third party app that you installed in your phone is causing this to happen. To do this you will need to start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Another possible factor that can cause this problem is the software update. Sometimes old software data does not get completely removed during the update process. This old data causes a conflict with the new software version resulting in issues such as this. If this is the case then what you should do is to perform a factory reset.

I case the software troubleshooting steps above fails to fix the problem then you should check the hardware of your phone. Do you have a microSD card installed? If you have then try removing this as this could be causing the problem. You should also try to replace the phone battery with a new one to check if a faulty battery is causing this problem.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Processing Failed Error When Checking For Software Update

Problem: I have samsung galaxy note 4 model sm-n910f when ever i am checking for system updates my phone is getting error processing failed my android version is 5.1.1. And my second question is my phone turns off when my battery reaches 25 and when i am trying to restart i am getting error phone battery is critically low

Solution: Since this is a two part problem let’s address the updating error first. I suggest you try to use Kies or Smart Switch instead of checking for the update over the air. If you are still getting the same error or if you are unable to update your phone then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check for the update again.

If you are still getting an error then make sure that your phone is connected to a fast and stable Wi-Fi network. You should also try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the update proceeds.

One last step to consider is to manually flash the updated stock firmware file of your phone. You can get the firmware file of your device from the Sammobile website. This site also has the instructions on how to flash your phone.

For the second problem of the phone turning off when the battery reaches 25% you should try performing a factory reset if you haven’t already done this step. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the reset fails to fix the problem then you should replace the phone battery with a new one.

Note 4 Error 410 When Updating Software

Problem: I have a galaxy note 4 I just got from my dad. It’s on kernel version 3.10.40. It installs the download, but then when I install it it turns off, turns back on and in the upper left hand corner of the screen in blue is “recovery booting” and the next screen is a picture of the android boot with an error sign. It gives me the error code 410

Solution: To fix this issue try starting your phone in Safe Mode and from here make a backup of your phone data. Once this is done perform a factory reset.

In case you are unable to start the phone in Safe Mode then proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode. From here you can do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

Once the reset has completed check for the update again and if it is available then update your device.

If the same issue occurs then you should try manually flashing the update to your phone. To do this you need to download the updated firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website. This website also has the instructions on how to flash your phone in case you need it.

Note 4 Won’t Update

Problem: My phone won’t update. My phone has never updated and I bought it from a store called GO GO Wireless in Flint Michigan. I bought at least 2 – 3 years ago used. They said it was jail broken but i’m not sure what that means for this phone. It was a cheap price. I had bought a different phone from them and it was fine for about thirty days then it stopped working and some weird message from rent a center came up. I think it was a stolen phone they had sold me but they gave me my money back. I hope my phone wasn’t jailbroken because it was stolen. I would really like an update done on it.

Solution: The reason why your phone is not getting any software updates is because it is probably rooted. You can try to unroot your phone then check for the update again. However, the best way to proceed is to manually flash your phone with its updated firmware file.

Note 4 Vibration Not Working After Software Update

Problem: Samsung software update marshmallow which cause a glitch on my phone the vibration does not work any more I try resetting the device, plus few other steps nothing work really need my vibration to work again I rather go back to lollipop noone is helping.

Solution: Since you already tried doing a factory reset then I suggest you check if the vibration motor is working. To do this just Type *#9998*842# from the keypad. This will test if the vibration motor is working. If the phone does not vibrate then this is already a hardware problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Stuck In Software Update

Problem: Dear sirs, I had a software update request early in the morning which I proceeded with. it is still updating and does not move forward for over the last three hours. please, let me know what actions to take.

Solution: To fix this problem you should remove the battery and microSD card of the phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit then clear its RAM. Once this is done reinsert the battery then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you have to perform a factory reset. If you are able to backup your phone data before doing the reset the I suggest that you do it since this data will be deleted. Once the reset is done check for the update again.
