Note 5 Randomly Restarts And Crashes

Problem: Hello, I have been having troubles with my phone for a while. My phone will randomly restart, apps will crash at random times, and it will not install the latest AT&T update. I have done all the steps of troubleshooting via this website and others including master reset before but it came back after using my phone more and getting my apps back.

Solution: If you have already performed a master reset and the issue still remains then there’s only one other thing that you can do before bringing the phone to a service center for checking. You should consider flashing the updated firmware file to your device as the problem could be caused by a corrupt software. Download the firmware file specific to your phone model at the Sammobile website. You will also find the procedure on how to flash your phone in that website.

If the issue still occurs even after flashing your phone software then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 5 Keeps On Repeating Nougat Update

Problem: I had my note 5 turned off for a few months because I upgraded. My new phone broke so I reactivated the note 5 until my replacement phone arrives. When I reactivated the note it advised me of a software update. I think it is nougat. It goes through the updating process but doesn’t actually update. The phone has been reactivated for almost 4 hours and has “updated” 6 times.

Solution: This problem could either be caused by insufficient internal storage space or some form of software glitch. The best way to proceed in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if you are able to update the phone successfully. If the issue remains then try using Smart Switch to update your phone.

Note 5 Not Getting Software Update

Problem: I’m having problems updating the software on my note 5. I recently got my phone unlocked and i’m unable to do a system update. I tried on smart switch but it doesn’t do anything. Nothing comes up on my phone or the computer screen. How can i get the new update?

Solution: There are several conditions that your phone must meet in order for it to get the official software update.

  • Your phone must not be rooted.
  • Your phone must not be running on a custom software.
  • If you had the phone unlocked then it should be running on its original network so that it can access the update servers.

Since you had your phone unlocked then chances are it isn’t running on its original network. If possible you should bring it back to its original network ( use the original network SIM card) then check for the update. If this isn’t possible then you should do a factory reset ( make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset) then use smart Switch to update your phone.

If the above step fails to work then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your device. You can download your phone’s  firmware file from the Sammobile website. Instructions on how to flash your phone are also available in the website.

S5 Restart Device SIM Not Detected Error

Problem: it is showing a message to “restart your device sim is not detected” i restart it sim started working but after few minutes it again ask me to restart your device. i withdraw my sim out of slot and i noticed it was heated up. internet is not working too. sign of 4g shows up in notification bar but internet doesn’t work. kindly tell me solution how can i fix it.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now to fix this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you might have a defective SIM. Try getting a new SIM then check if this fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Drains Extremely Fast

Problem: My Note 5’s battery drains EXTREMELY fast. About 1% every minute or so. I’ve owned the Note 2, 4 and 7 before this one and I’ve never seen anything like this. Anything I can do?

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if the phone software is somehow causing this problem. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this issue. Immediately check if the problem still occurs after performing a step then move to the next one if it still does.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue still occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could be caused by a faulty battery or a defective internal component. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Has Black Screen

Problem: Hi there, I have a note 5 that is roughly 13 months old. It started off with a natural battery issue where the battery would die a lot faster. Of course the phone was in warranty so I emailed the company i bought it from and quite frankly they responded there would be a cost. Which I replied thinking how ridiculous that sounded considering It’s under warranty regulation. Any way, they didn’t respond with a notice or quote. Later on about 3 weeks later the warranty expired and the bottom of my screen stopped working. The very bottom lair, thing is.. my S~pen could still be registered in that very area. I tried turning off and giving it a weeks break thinking it wouldn’t pursue, turned it on and the screen was pink. Now at this moment, the whole screen had pink lines and bits all over. I emailed the company once more telling them and no reply till this day. It’s not been around liquid, as I said I had it turned off. I’ve recently tried rebooting but as of right now the state it is in, is a  Black screen. although the charging light still comes on. I can’t put it in safe mode or any of that. I’ve tried putting it up to ny computer and it says there’s no files whatsoever on it. My company is spark, place I got it is mobile station up in Auckland. same country different city.

Solution: If the screen of your phone is black but you are getting the charging LED indicator light when you charge your phone then there’s a possibility that the display assembly of your phone is damaged. Since you can’t access the Safe Mode or recovery mode of the phone then I suggest you bring this to a service center and have it checked.
