S7 Flashing Battery When Charging

Problem: I have a Galaxy S7 and out of the blue it wouldn’t charge, we tried different chargers and nothing.  I rebooted the phone and now it won’t turn on. I finally got it to recognize that the charger was connected and all it does is flash the battery picture on the screen.  I tried to turn it on and get the Samsung S7 words on the screen but just a flash and then it goes back to the flashing battery. The red light isn’t lit that usually is while charging.  I am not sure of the Android version, so I am choosing the first one.

Solution: The first thing that needs to be done in this particular case is to make sure that the charger isn’t causing the problem by following the steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the charging port doesn’t have any dirt or debris in it by using a can of compressed air to clean it.
  • Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone.
  • Try using a different wall charger when charging the phone.
  • Check if the issue occurs when you charge the phone through a computer USB port. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by a faulty charging port in which case you should have this checked at a service center.
  • Check if the issue occurs when you wirelessly charge the phone. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by a faulty charging port in which case you should have this checked at a service center.

If the problem still occurs even after performing the above steps then this could be a hardware related issue possibly caused by a faulty battery or charging port assembly. You will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Stuck In Restart Loop

Problem: My phone which was new september 2016 is in a restart loop, tried safe mode, wipe cache, full system restore all to no avail still stuck in a loop. I have already been to have the phone checked out at a Samsung centre and had the phone wiped and a fresh software android 6.001 I think. 1 thing to note it the phone gets rather warm when it is in the loop and on occasion does boot to the point I can send a text but never long enough to make a phone call

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you do have one then try taking it out as this might be causing the problem.

If you don’t have a microSD card installed or if the issue occurs after removing the microSD card then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset from recovery mode.

If the issue still occurred after performing the steps listed above then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Charging Using Duracell Powermat

Problem: I have a new s7. It charges fine plugged in. It doesn’t charge on a Duracell Powermat. Is there some setting I need to change? It goes to a battery screen when I lay it on the mat but then goes back to the default quiet screen and does not charge.

Solution: Sometimes this issue could be caused by the wall charger that’s used to power up the power mat. Try using the Adaptive Fast Charger that came with your phone with the powermat. You should also try using a different charging cord as this could cause the problem. On the phone side go to Settings then Battery and make sure that the fast charging switch for wireless charging is switched on.

If your phone is protected by a case try removing it from its case then check if the wireless charging works.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider using a different wireless charger.

S7 Does Not Charge

Problem: Greetings, I woke up this morning to realize that my phone does not charge. I’ve tried two chargers(different cables and different wall plugs) and also tried two wireless chargers but does not seem to be charging. I have no more battery left and i bought the phone last July. This seems to be a manufacturer defect. What can i do from here? I know Samsung covers 1 year on defects.

Solution: If wireless charging and wired charging fails to work then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery or charging IC. I’d recommend you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Stuck In Recovery Booting

Problem: I attempt to reboot my phone and now it’s stuck on with a “Recovery booting” message that keeps cycling and vibration. I can not turn it on and it was originally having troubling charging and was turning off. No drops, ice, water, or any type of damage at all. I had charged it, looked at my email, and then it locked up and wouldn’t charge. Please help as I just got this phone the beginning of November.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery of your phone is charged. To do this follow the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Try using a different charging cables. Check if the phone has a charging indicator.
  • Try using different wall chargers. Check if the phone has a charging indicator.
  • If you have a wireless charger then try charging your phone wirelessly.

If the phone still does not charge and is still stuck in recovery booting then you will have to start the phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this step.

If the above steps fail to work then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Turning On After Using Gear VR

Problem: I was using the vr with my Samsung s7 and it was getting really hot so I stopped using it so my phone could cool down and when I went to check on my phone a minute later  my phone was off and it won’t turn back on. What can I do to get it to turn back on?

Solution: What you need to do first is to cool down your phone. Once this is done charge your phone using its wall charger. Check if there is a charging indicator. Once the phone has charged then try turning the phone on.

If the phone turns on then confirm is it still gets hot when using the VR set. If it does then you should avoid using this as it might have an issue.
