Note 4 TouchWiz Keeps Crashing

Problem: My note 4 has begun having freezing issues, touchwiz keeps crashing, it will restart itself randomly. I have also had it completely lock up on me showing an android symbol on the screen not really sure what has happened to my phone since this marshmallow update 2 weeks ago.

Solution: You could try clearing the cache and data of the TouchWiz app from the application manager ( make sure that show all system apps is chosen). If this doesn’t fix the problem then this could be caused by some form of old software data that got left behind during the update. What you will want to do is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete the issue should disappear.

Note 4 Do Not turn Off Downloading Error

Problem: Hi, I’m using my note 4 for more than 2 years now. Just last week I encountered some problem below are the details; even the battery if full it turns off automatically an android mascot appear on the screen with captions “do not turn off downloading” but even if I waited like more than 1 hour it’s still there and my phone is getting hotter. once i remove the battery and wait for about 5 seconds sometimes it turns on but sometimes not so I have to remove the battery again even there are times when I am charging my phone the android mascot appear. I don’t know if the problem id from my battery or the phone itself. I tried the factory reset for 5x already but still the same. Thank you and hping for ur urgent reply.

Solution: Since doing a factory reset doesn’t fix the problem then you should try getting a new battery and see if this works. If the issue remains then this could already be caused by an internal component that’s failing to work. You should have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Applications Stopped Working Properly After Marshmallow Update

Problem: hello. i would like to ask some questions regarding my device. i own galaxy note 4 and when it updated to marshmallow some of the application stopped working properly.  facebook messenger: it always off and i need to wait until it will connect to the internet when i’m already connected. it says that it is waiting for the connection or no internet connection. facebook : news feed is not updating for a days. i’m not even able to view friends pages because it is saying that i’m offline or no internet connection. same is for the youtube. offline or not connected same for the viber. well i tried to fix it with factory reset doesn’t helped. then the total android system was reinstalled. it was working properly just for few hours and then it began to do the same…i’m having this problem for a couple of month already.

Solution: Since the problem occurs even after a factory reset and reinstalling the Android system then there might be other factors involved aside from the software that’s causing the issue.

I recommend that you try using a different Internet connection mode. Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network. You should also check if the issue occurs when using a mobile data connection.

Should the problem persist you should try downgrading your phone software by flashing a previous version to it. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several Android forums online.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Keeps Rebooting Over And Over

Problem: My Galaxy Note 4 keeps rebooting over and over and often won’t stop.  It’s a pretty consistent issue (daily) although these are brief cycles when the phone will operate normally, but they are getting to be fewer and further between.   I performed a factory reset hoping this would fix the issue and it did not.  The only thing that seems to help – sometimes – is when the phone is connected to a charger.  It happens less frequently and will usually finish cycling so the phone is usable.  I went to the Verizon Wireless store for assistance and they were useless.  Seems that unless you’re actually buying a new device or adding services, they are not very interested in helping their customers.  Please pass along any advice you can,  I’m going to have to get a new phone otherwise – and with no new Galaxy Note on the market, I really don’t want to do that.   Thanks!!!

Solution: Since you mentioned that the issue sometimes goes away when the phone is connected to its charger then you should try using a new battery on your phone. Also, if you have a microSD installed in our device ty taking it out.

If the issue persists then this could be caused by an internal component that’s failing to work. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center that does board level repairs and have it checked.

Note 4 Server Error Occurred Restart Camera Error

Problem: Everytime I turn on my front camera, I get a “Server error occurred. Restart camera” message. My rear camera works fine, I just have this problem on my front camera. I have had this phone only a few weeks and besides the camera issue, I really love it! Hopefully I can get this issue resolved.

Solution: If you have a microSD card installed in your phone try taking it out as this could be causing the problem especially if this is the default storage location of the photos taken.

You should also try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. This will clear any corrupt temporary data in the app that could contribute to this problem.

Should the issue persist then you will have to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the problem still occurs after the reset then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Stuck On Android KitKat

Problem: The device has not once been able to upgrade from android 4.4.4 to anything else. I check for upgrades and it says the current software is up to date. I have factory reset the device multiple times and still no luck.

Solution: Before the phone can get the official updates it must meet the conditions listed below.

  • The if the phone is unlocked then it should be running on its original network.
  • The phone must not be rooted.
  • The phone must not be running on a custom firmware.

If your phone meets the conditions listed above and no new update is found then try to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check for the update. You should also try checking for the update using Kies.

One last thing you should consider is to manually flash the updated firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Lags After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Upgraded to 6.0.1 recently and my device has been super laggy, and reboots a number of times a day. Apps are slow to load, scrolling is delayed. I wouldn’t have upgraded if I knew it would be this bad. Everything seems to be affected by it. Messages app is slow to respond, Firefox, Spotify, Keep are all laggy.

Solution: For this particular issue you will need to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. If this fails to fix the problem then proceed with doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
