Note 4 No Network Connection

Problem: Hi, I have a note 4. The other day we lost cell reception for a while and the message “no network connection available” message came on a few times. When I tried to connect again the message had changed to “this is what happens when too many people are watching cat videos at the same time”.. It was weird and made me wonder if my phone got hacked. Thanks for your help

Solution: It’s possible that you might have some adware in your phone. Just to be safe I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. While this will most likely make the cat message disappear it’s a different scenario for the “no network connection available issue”. If you are still getting this message then try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try to check first if the issue is network related. If you have access to another mobile device running on the same network try checking if it also experiences the same problem. If it does then this is most likely a network problem in which case I suggest you contact your carrier.
  • Try taking out the SIM card of your phone then reinsert it back to the device. This will refresh your phone’s connection to the network.

Since this issue occurred for a short period of time I would suggest that you continue monitoring your phone first.

Note 4 Not Receiving Or Making Calls

Problem: Hi, My phone from nowhere just started refusing to call or receive calls. It keeps looking for signal. After entering the Service mode, the RRC keeps going from Idle to Connecting.. But it’s not set on connected. I replaced the sim card with the carrier, that didn’t help., I reset my phone but still the error has been persistent.  I am hoping you might have a solution for me… I am really stuck… The signal comes and goes without warning.. I noticed something odd as well after i took out the sim card it kept the signal up but there was no sim card in the phone. My phone is a Samsung galaxy note 4 – the SM-N910G variant.

Solution: You did the correct troubleshooting steps for this particular problem. Have you tried checking if the issue is isolated when you are in a particular location? That location might be getting a weak network coverage which is why you are unable to make or receive calls. If you have determined that this isn’t a coverage related problem then I suggest that you have the phone checked at a service center as this is most likely a hardware related problem already.

Note 4 Network Connection Disappeared

Problem: hello, I’m having a problem with my Samsung galaxy note 4. My network connection disappeared 4 days ago and never came back. I went to my phone provider and they changed my SIM card and it’s definitely not a SIM card or service provider problem. I have tried factory reset, wiping my cache and anything else that should commonly be done to reboot my device and it didn’t help. I have a feeling it’s a software problem or there is a bug, but I’m not quite sure. I was wondering if you could help me with this issue. actually this problem started when I installed the Telegram application on my phone. is there anyway I can undo the last software update to see if that helps?

Solution: You can try to flash the previous firmware version back to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular android forums online. Basically you will need a computer software called Odin as well as the firmware file of your phone to flash your device.

If flashing your phone fails to fix the problem then this could be caused by a hardware issue possibly a faulty antenna module. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 4 Network Connection Disappeared

Problem: Hello I have a samsung galaxy note 4 which has been giving me a problem. I woke up one day there network had disappeared. I tried to factory reset it but still nothing. I took to hardware fixers and they failed too. Kindly help me get my network back on the phone. Thank you.

Solution: Try checking if the issue is caused by a SIM card problem by inserting a different SIM in your phone. You should also check if your phone is getting a valid IMEI number. You can check this from Settings- About Phone – Status. If your phone has an invalid IMEI then you need to restore this. Just refer to the popular Android forums online on how to do this.

If the problem still persist then this is most likely a hardware issue already possibly caused by a defective antenna module or SIM card reader module. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.

Note 4 Error While Searching For Network

Problem: No network. Can’t make calls or text or access Internet outside wifi. New SIM card. Phone knows when there is no SIM. Worked for several weeks until I left US (T MOBILE. I unlocked phone) No network access in UK. UK SIM worked for a short while. Then UK SIM stopped working. Got new SIM from TMobile on return to US. No service. Triangle where bars should be usually has an x or is grey. Error message: “Error while searching for network”

Solution: For this particular problem I suggest that you eliminate any software glitches that could be causing this problem first by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the reset fails to fix the problem then you should check your phone IMEI number next. If this is invalid then you will need to restore this. Just refer to the popular Android forums online on how to restore your phone’s IMEI.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a hardware failure.

Note 4 Dropping Calls

Problem: The 1st month I had the phone everything was fine and then it started dropping calls and has continually gotten worse.  I have tried every fix I could find, contacted the carrier numerous times and they say it is the device.  Can you make any suggestions?  Thank you

Solution: If your carrier thinks that the problem is caused by the phone then it’s very likely that the network coverage in your area is good. We will skip checking the network and proceed with troubleshooting the phone. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem. Move to the next step should the issue remain unresolved.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • Try replacing your SIM card.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
