Note 4 Blurry Camera Pictures

Problem: When taking manual selfies with my Note 4, pictures are blurry. However, when taking them with voice command, pictures are much better. I feel the problem is that autofocus is not working. I tried very hard to solve this issue by adjusting the settings but I failed. Plz help

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the camera lens is clear or any dirt or obstructions. If your phone has a case installed then try removing it from its case. Since you are taking selfies then I assume you are using the front camera. This front camera can usually be obstructed by the screen protector so if your phone has one remove it. You should also clean the lens of the camera using a microfiber cloth.

Try checking if the photos are still blurry. If it still is then do the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.

  • Clear the cache and data of the camera app.
  • Check if the issue occurs even in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above you should have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a defective camera module.

Note 4 Turns Off When Camera Is Used

Problem: I was having issues with my battery not holding a charge, so I ordered one off ebay. Since replacing this battery, I have noticed that my phone shuts down when I try to take a photo. It won’t do this if it’s plugged in and charging, and typically happens when I’m outside. Really annoying!

Solution: It’s very likely that the battery you ordered is causing this issue. You should however check if the phone software is causing this problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then you should get another battery preferably an original Samsung battery.

Note 4 Not Focusing After Phone Dropped

Problem: Hi there, after drop the phone. The back camera cover broken/cracked. And since then is not auto focusing .My phone is out of warranty. Tried to replace the lense cover. Followed instruction on youtube. When try replacing it. It looks like some shards inside the lense. So i blow gently. After replacing still not autofocusing. Is is it maybe because of the small glass shards inside the lense? Please advise! Thank you

Solution: If the lens still has some shards in it then this could be the reason why the autofocus is not working properly. Try to make sure that the lens is clear first by taking it out again. Blow into the areas where the shards are. You should also use a microfiber cloth to wipe the lens.

If the autofocus still doesn’t work then the camera module might have been affected by the drop. I recommend you have your phone checked at a service center to pinpoint the exact cause of this issue.

Note 4 Shuts Down When Flash Is Used

Problem: Hi,I need help. I have Note 4 and when I take pictures using the flash. The camera would fire the flash and shut down. I would need to take the battery out and put it back in for the phone to be able to start again. This is a persistent issue. I’m also starting to experience GPS issues. When I’m using google maps it would say that it’s searching for my position and cannot find it.Thank you for what you do, I appreciate this service.

Solution: Since the flash uses additional power the battery might not be able to provide this which is why the phone shuts down. Replacing the battery would be recommended in this case. You should however backup your phone data then do a factory reset to check if the phone software is causing the issue.

If the above steps fail to fix the issue then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Pictures Not Showing In Gallery

Problem: Hello I have a problem that started 2 days ago. before that everything was working fine and now when I take pictures they don’t store in my device. If I go to gallery I can’t see them but if I make a new pic and press on the small left screen to see the pic it shows me all the other pics that I can’t see in the gallery. What I have to do to save them in Google photos and to be able to see them like it should. Thx in advance

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the gallery app then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then start your phone in recovery mode and wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone then check if the issue disappears.

If your phone has a microSD card and it is the default storage location for your photos then you should try to remove this card. Once the card is removed take some pictures then check if you can view the photos in the gallery app. If you can then the microSD card might have some corrupt sectors. Replace this card.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

Note 4 Media Server Failed Camera Needs Restart Issue

Problem: i have tried backing up all my files and doing a factory reset on my phone. but I still get the message saying media server failed camera needs reset everytime I try turning on the front camera. I don’t know what else to do as I have tried a full factory reset yet still have the problem

Solution: Since the factory reset failed to fix this issue then there’s a possibility that the front camera module of this phone is damaged. Have this checked at a service center.
