S6 Failed SMS Sending

Problem: My messages take a minute to send and then they say they failed. But the person is clearly getting them anyways because they text back to the messages. But it still says they fail. I have tried rebooting it. And I’ve also tried turning on airplane mode and rebooting it. I don’t know what else to try.

Solution: This issue could be caused by a glitch in the messaging app. The best thing to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the messaging app. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the problem still occurs.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Messages App Freezes

Problem: My messages app won’t open. When I click on it, it just freezes. I go to Force Stop it in my Settings and it won’t even open from there. Is there any way to fix this?? Thanks.

Solution: You should try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then the next thing to do is to check if an app you downloaded is causing a conflict with the messaging app. To do this start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then you will need to find out what app is causing this problem and uninstall it. Should the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Failed SMS When Sending To iPhone

Problem: Hello, i’m having problems sending a text message to a friend or family member that uses an IPhone. It just comes up with “Failed SMS”. I get full 5 bars for signal but its just not sending. Sometimes I am able to send it to on iphone user but not the other. I am able to send a SMS test message to an android user who is not connected to data or wifi. Thank you.

Solution: Try deleting the messaging thread in your phone between you and the iPhone user then send a text message. If the problem still occurs you should clear the cache and data of the messaging app then try sending a text message again.

S6 Not Sending Picture Message

Problem: so i wont to send a picture in a message, i use to be able to do it when i first got the phone but i started mucking around with the settings and i don’t really know what i have done, do you have any idea what i have done or how to fix it? just keeps coming up with these messages, service not activated on network. then followed by service response error can you help please?

Solution: You might have changed some of the APN settings in your phone which is why you are unable to send a picture message. Check the APN settings of your phone and make sure that it matches the one your carrier is using. Make the necessary APN changes in your phone if needed. You should also make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription to be able to send a picture message.

S6 Stuck In Sending Messages

Problem: So I have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, and my phone recently updated to Android 6.0.1, and since that update my stock messenger app shows that my messages are still sending, but I know they successfully sent because I can carry on a conversation. So I think it might be a bug in the app with the sending icon. What do you think?

Solution: This might just be caused by some form of corrupt data in the messaging app. Try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset since this issue occured right after a software update.
