The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6Edge is a smartphone released in 2015 that is best known for its curved display that wraps around the edges of the phone. While there were not a lot of models with this distinct design back then, today most of the high end devices released in the market have curved displays. This particular model despite being two years old already is still quite popular among consumers since it’s hardware is still capable of running the most demanding apps smoothly and it is also getting constant software updates. Although owners of this device are quite pleased with the way it works there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. S6 Edge Overheating Not Charging
Problem: i was on facebook live for 1 hour with 60% battery life and on maximum power saving mode. it was definitely overheating but didn’t do anything since it was an important event. then when i went to check later around 1.5 hour later, i think the battery died and was black so i tried to charge. but no charging notification or indication light is on and i cannot switch it on again!
Solution: A phone will usually heat up when you are using a data connection and are streaming some content. If the phone gets too hot then this might mean that something is wrong with the battery. In this case the phone does not charge or even turn on which means that this could be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty battery.
To troubleshoot this problem what you will need to do first is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. Once this is done perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone does not restart then change it for at least 20 minutes. If there is no charging indicator then try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Drop In Water
Problem: Hello there, Last week I dropped my phone (s6 edge) in water. I left it to dry for a few hours before turning it on and then it wouldn’t respond. I let it dry for even longer (days) and when putting it on charge, a Battery symbol would come up and disappear. I then ordered a new battery and left it to dry till then however, the phone will now switch on but says phones not charging and promptly dies. Also the battery symbol says 96% when charging and off along with a thermometer in a triangle. Could there have been some water left when I installed the new battery? What do you reckon is the issue? Cheers
Solution: If you have carefully inspected the inside of the phone to be free of water when you replaced the battery then it’s unlikely that some water might be left. I think this issue is caused by some other component that got water damaged. This could be the charging port, the power IC, or any other component that might have short circuited. The best way to determine what component is failing to work is to have your phone checked at a service center that specializes in board level repairs.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Using Custom Param.Bin File
Problem: I created a custom param.bin file using this tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/themes-apps/mod-custom-boot-splash-t3130557 but replacing the the dev/block/ with the correct location of param.bin for the s6 edge partition. When I tried to start it the screen went blank and I got no signs of life. After a couple days the charging screen came on when plugged in and charged to 100%, but when I tried to start it, it again it went blank and the phone showed no more signs of life for a couple hours. Will not boot into download, recovery or regular.
Solution: It looks like the phone software has been corrupted. Your aim right now is to flash the phone with its updated stock firmware file using Odin. Since the phone does not boot in download mode then this will be a problem. What you will want to do is to attempt a battery pull first by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case the phone remains unresponsive then try charging it for at least 20 minutes. Once the phone charges you try starting the phone in download mode and if it does you can now flash it using Odin.
In case the above steps doesn’t work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Has Red Green Lines
Problem: after pressing the lock button for a while, the screen gets covered with red and green lines with white bars in the center (probably the samsung logo). It gets stuck like that and i cant use my phone anymore. resets don’t work. help please.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty display. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
S6 Edge Turns Off Automatically
Problem: My phone s6 edge turn off automatically without any reason..and LED indicates white colour and phone showing SAMSUNG S6 EDGE..how to fix this problem help me???well tried everything posted on internet Try pressing the Volume down key, power key and home key together. ii did reboot, factory reset……all things but still my phone same problem
Solution: One last troubleshooting step that you should consider doing is to flash the phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can download the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website. Instructions on how to flash you phone are also available in this website.
In case this still fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. The best way to proceed right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Installing Updates Videos Keep Crashing
Problem: My s6 edge isn’t installing the latest updates. Also all my videos are crashing. It doesn’t matter whether I’m streaming from netflix or watching videos I downloaded. I’ve reseted my phone to factory settings and also cleared the cache. Nothing seems to work. Please help
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to flash the phone with is updated stock firmware file using Odin. Make sure to backup your phone data before flashing the device. In case you still experience the same problem after this then you have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Overheated Then Rebooted
Problem: Hi my galaxy s6 edge overheated and rebooted and now the touch sensor for fingerprint unlock will not work
Solution: What you will want to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. You should also make sure that the home button of the phone is free from any dirt or grime. If the issue remains then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
