Note 5 Not Charging When Connected To USB Port

Problem: Recently I am no longer able to charge my Note 5 unless the charging cord is plugged into a wall outlet. If I try to connect with the USB cord to my computer or to a battery pack, it will not charge. Thinking it might have happened after the last update. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Solution: One of the main causes of this particular problem is that one of the pins ( the pin responsible for slow charging) of the charging port might not be working properly. What you will want to do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. You also need to try using different charging cords to charge the phone. If the issue still remains then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have the charging port checked. If one of the pins of the port is damaged then it’s very likely that this port will have to be replaced.

Note 5 Not Turning On After Charging Overnight

Problem: Went to charge note 5 last night. everything seemed fine-lights, normal indicator that it was charging. Woke up this morning to a dead phone. Tried all possible ways to reset multiple times; tried different cables, chargers, outlets. Nothing. Samsung service useless. Lost cause?

Solution: You should try performing a simulated battery pull first by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case it doesn’t then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger that has been tested to work on another device.
  • Perform a simulated battery pull again.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then it’s possible that the problem could be caused by a faulty battery. If this is the case then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

Note 5 Screen Is Unresponsive After Drop

Problem: I accidentally dropped my phone on the floor and now the screen unresponsive and black, but when I press the power or home-screen button it quickly flashes bright white and pink before immediately going black again. I restarted it several times and it has not help. There is also no way to remove the battery with this type of phone.

Solution: It’s very likely that the display has been damaged by the drop. You should however check if the phone software is causing this problem by starting the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you will have to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen is still unresponsive in recovery mode then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Can’t Use Snapchat

Problem: My cellphone device (Samsung Galaxy Note 5) did not allow me to use snapchat, I already erase the app a lot of times, restart the device and I have more than a month trying to make it work, I’ll really appreciate you help.

Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to make sure that your phone is running on the latest software update. If it already is and you still can’t run Snapchat then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete install a fresh version of Snapchat from the Google Play Store.

Note 5 Can’t Connect To Facebook Using Wi-Fi Network After Security Update

Problem: My last security update shows 6-1-17 and since then I have not been able to connect to facebook and/or whatsapp while on home network. It works on other networks just fine.I have tried calling AT&T and spent hours with them with no luck.  My home router setting have not been changed to cause this issue.  Any thoughts?

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to forget the Wi-Fi network from your phone then restart both the phone and your home router. When the phone starts you should connect to the home network again. In case the issue still occurs again then this might already be caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 Screen Not turning On From Sleep Mode

Problem: Hi, i have a note 5. Bought it second hand and phone works like magic. Too often though, when the phone is on. I will click the power button or middle trigger to open up the screen where you swipe to go to main screen. It will go to lock screen for a second. Go black. Then screen off. Takes several attempts then works. Have you heard of this issue?

Solution: It’s possible that the problem could be caused by a software glitch. Perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem. After performing a step check if the issue still occurs. If it does then move to the next step.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 Use The Original Charger Error

Problem: Does not charge at all….it worked perfectly fine for about 5 months. ..now all of a sudden it says charger not compatible with this phone. use the original charger which unfortunately I no longer have….I tried cleaning the charging port. ..soft reset and 5 other chargers

Solution: When you get an error message stating that you need to use the original charger of your phone when charging the device what you need to do are the following.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • Try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the issue still persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Screen Intermittently Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: The device took a small fall maybe 3′ to the top left hand corner. And now the screen intermittently does not turn on, however sometimes it turns on and works completely fine. All i have to do is press the lock button off and I a few times the screen turns I properly.

Solution: It looks like the ddrp might have affected some internal component of the phone. What you should do first in this case is to check if a software glitch is causing the problem by performing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the problem still occurs after the reset then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
