Note 4 Turns Off Randomly

Problem: Hello! I have a note 4 and I have the same issue. It used to turn off randomly. I have changed the battery yesterday and the issue became much rare. Like it still does happen once or twice per day (before changing the battery I could only keep it turned on only if charging). So I also deleted caChe a few days ago and reseted it 2 days ago. I only downloaded a few apps. Common ones…whatsapp, Facebook… what could be the problem ? Thanks a lot!

Solution: It’s good that you changed the battery since this is one of the factors that can cause this type of problem. Since the issue still persist after replacing the battery then you should proceed with checking if other factors are involved.

Does your phone have a microSD card? If this card has corrupt sectors then this kind of problem can occur. Try removing this card then check if the issue still occurs.

Sometimes this issue can also be caused by a glitch in the phone software. If this is the case then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. As soon as the reset has finished do not install ay apps yet but instead try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work, possibly the power IC. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 4 Not Turning On After Falling In Water

Problem: My phone wont turn on after it fell in the water. After sec, i tried to turn it on but wont work. The blue light on the upper left was on.. but the whole screen is black i tried to charge it but the screen is still black. Need your help. Thank you so much.

Solution: The first thing that you will want to do whenever a phone gets wet is to make sure that it is dry and that no moisture is present inside the device. Remove the battery, SIM card, and microSD card of the phone then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture present in the phone. Once this is done reinsert the battery then turn on the phone. If it doesn’t turn on then try charging it first for at least 20 minutes. You should also try replacing the battery to check if the battery got water damaged.

In case the above steps fail to fix the problem then the phone has most likely suffered from water damage already. You will then need to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Randomly Rebooting

Problem: My Samsung note 4 after over 2 years loyal service has started randomly rebooting up to 8 times a day I have performed soft and hard resets to no avail but now its worse it will turn off completely and I’m unable to power it back up even though I get a glowing blue led in the corner I have done your troubleshooting and nothing as I write this my screen is showing in red could not do normal boot and a large android icon with downloading do not turn off target this is the second time I have seen this screen.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then you should try removing this as this could sometimes cause this particular problem.

Another factor that you should look into is the battery. If the battery that the phone has right now is faulty then this problem could occur. Try getting a new battery then see if the issue persists.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work.

Note 4 Lags And Restarts

Problem: Hello, i’m having a problem with my Galaxy Note 4, the issue is that it lags quite often and will eventually crash and restart, and its gotten to the point that it will have to restart 3-4 times to properly boot, sometimes going into recovery. even the splash screens will lag, im thinking its hardware related. a software update and factory reset on the device fixed no problems. N910A running 6.0.1

Solution: Since you have performed a software update and even did a factory reset then we can eliminate the software as a possible cause to this problem. What you will want to do right now is to remove the microSD card of the phone  ( if you have one installed) as this could cause this particular problem. You should also try replacing the battery with a new one to check if the battery is the culprit.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Problem: HI I have some questions, I recently bought a note 4 and my battery dies very fast . Another thing is it shuts off around 47 percent of battery life. And lastly today I opened snapchat and it just shuts off when I try to take a picture

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to get a new battery as it looks like the phone has a faulty battery. If the issue still occurs even with a new battery installed then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Check if the problem still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly.

Note 4 Randomly Freezing And Restarting

Problem: My phone has been working perfectly since I got in in 2014 I have the galaxy note 4 and since yesterday it has been freezing and restarting at random times I did a system update thinking it would fix the problem and since the update I can’t access my phone icon, contacts or gallery they all say they have stopped it only has the ok option and not the report option

Solution: I recommend that you check first if a software glitch is causing this problem by backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD card of your phone ( if you have one installed).
  • Try replacing the battery with a new one.

Should the issue persist then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center as this is most likely a hardware related problem already.

Note 4 Not Turning On

Problem: My phone would constantly ask for updates but I would always ignore the update notice and continue to use my phone. The phone would occasionally force restart itself and was initiated by a remove different sim card. The sim card was never removed but none the less it restarted and prompted it was due to the removal of the sim card. The device would do this at times of normal use such as watching a YouTube video, playing Clash Royale, browsing Google etc. When the restart was initialized the phone usually tended to be warmer than usual. Not hot to the touch but definitely warmer than usually. The last time it restarted it stayed off for good. Specifically, I was started a new match of clash Royale and the phone prompted sim card removed as soon as I started the match, I was angry of course because that would count as a loss but it had happened a few times before so I just figured whatever it always does this. Except this time it stayed turned off once it force restarted because of the sim card remove which as mentioned I was not removing the sim card any of the times it force restarted. I attempted to remove the battery and held the power button for a minute to use the electricity that might have remained in the device and that didn’t work. I left my phone connected to a charger overnight and nothing. I tried a soft reset, safe mode and and hard reset button sequence methods and still no response. I have a friend who has a full charged note 4 battery and still nothing. When plugged into the charger the LED light that would usually indicate activity was not longer functioning. The screen is black, no LED indicator, no vibration when plugging in charger nor holding power button, and not a battery issue as I’ve tried a different fully charged note 4 battery. I’ve accepted that it is almost certain this is a hardware issue but now my question is which part is it most likely to be so I can power it on and recover the picture and files on the device or if there is still and final troubleshoot method I could perform. I’m here more to hear about a next step for me as I’ve come to a standstill with my situation. My main objective is to recover my things so if there is a way to recover my files I wouldn’t really care to turn this phone back on.

Solution: It’s very likely that this is a hardware related problem already. Since you have already tried replacing the battery, which doesn’t , fix the problem then the next step is to check if the power IC of the phone is still working. It’s best to have this checked at a service center. Id the power IC is not working then it just needs to be replaced. Once replaced and the phone turns on you will then be able to recover your phone data.
