S7 Not Turning On After Charging

Problem: I have a Galaxy S7.  I charge it at night and it never takes more than 3 hours to charge.  2 mornings ago, I woke up and the red charging light was still on.  When I tried to wake the phone up, nothing happened.  I tried the 4 routines to fix a problem like this and neither of them worked.  Could it be that the battery just died? However, the battery seemed to hold a charge just fine up to this problem.  Any ideas?  Thanks. I’m not sure what Android version is in the phone but I had just installed an update 2 days before this problem showed.

Related Problem: I just leave my phone on bed after I chat a friend. I lock my phone and go to bathroom… when i get back, my phone is not opening I try to charge but no led red light that indicating it is charging… I try to charge it also in laptop nothing happen…. I try reset thing, nothing happen too… what do u think happen to my phone? I hope it’s not a dead board or else it will costly me a lot

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if the charger or charging port is causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris that might be stuck in the port is totally removed.
  • Try charging your phone using a different charging cord for at least 20 minutes then turn on your phone. If the issue disappears then the old charging cord is causing the problem
  • Try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different wall charger. If the issue disappears then the old wall charger is causing the problem.
  • Charge your phone from a computer USB port then turn on your phone. If the issue disappears then one of the pins of the charging port is faulty. Have this checked at a service center.

If the phone charges but still does not turn on then perform a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then check if you can start the phone in recovery mode. From here you need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above troubleshooting steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Fast Charging Not Working After Software Update

Problem: So since updated my phone i seem to not have the fast charge luxury i’ve tried everything in your info page and still take about 5 hours to make 100% need help please

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to eliminate any charger related issues that could be causing the problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different charging cord when charging your phone.
  • Try using a different wall charger when charging your phone. Make sure that this charger as an output rating of 2.0 A.

In case the issue still persists then it could be caused by some form of old software data that is causing a conflict with the new software version. You need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset if this is the case.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Screen Has Different Colors When Charging

Problem: All a sudden when I put my S7 on charge the screen turns into plasma (lots of colours) but it happens if I put it on charge when the phone is on. When it’s off on charge everything is normal. Although everything is normal as alway except when its charging on. I also can’t do anything that screen dont want to go away unless i unplug it.

Solution: You need to check if a faulty charger is causing this problem by using a different charger and charging cord. If the problem persists then the issue could be with the charging port. Try cleaning this port using a can of compressed air. If this doesn’t fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Will Not Power Up

Problem: My phone had about 36% last night, we weren’t home and needed my phone to uber home, so I plugged it in so I would have power later that night.  When I tried to use it, it was dead.  No lights anywhere, and it wouldn’t power up.  I’ve tried all the steps to power it up and get nothing.  When I hold the volume up, the home button, and the power button simultaneously, I get in tiny blue letters at the top left, “Recovery Booting…” but nothing ever happens. Also, on this form it asks for Android version, but I don’t even know what that is or how to find out, so I checked ‘other’

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. The phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging your phone again for at least 20 minutes before turning it on again. Make sure that the charging indicator is present. If the phone does not charge then perform the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different charging cord when charging your phone.
  • Try using a different wall charger when charging your phone.

Should the issue persist then one last troubleshooting step you should consider is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Freezes And Restarts

Problem: I have my Samsung Galaxy S7 for over 8 Months and have NO problem. 2 Week Ago it start to freeze and restart. After 2 week of having this problem and trying to identify the issue, i have found that when the battery is 60 % or under, it work fine, but when i fully charge it, the freezing and restarting start until the battery is at 60%. The solution i have found is not to fully charge the device, but it is really a problem.

Solution: Have you tried checking if the microSD card is causing the problem? If your phone has a microSD card then try removing it then check if the issue still occurs.

Another possible reason why your phone freezes and restarts is because of a software glitch. To check if this is the case you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S7 Making A Noise

Problem: Randomly my phone makes a noise like coins dropping. It’s only been happening in the last week and I’ve had the phone for over a year. I haven’t installed anything new on it for at least 7 months. All my notifications are off, NFC off, email notification off. I’ve gone through all my settings and turned off everything that makes a noise except for call and message but it is still making it every now and again. Any ideas?

Solution: This problem could be caused by one of the apps you installed. To check if this is the case just start the phone in Safe Mode. If the sound does not occur in this mode then it is caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
