Note 4 Not Receiving Group Text From iPhone
Problem: I have a Samsung Note 4. It will receive a single text message from an iPhone but not if the iPhone message has more than one recipient. Please advice how to solve this problem? Thank you.
Solution: There are two things that you need to check in this case. First, you should make sure that your phone is capable of receiving MMS messages and group messages. For this your phone must have the correct APN settings, you should have an active mobile data subscription, and you should have your mobile data switch turned on.
The second thing you need to check is on the iPhone side. Have the sender check if they are sending the message as an iMessage. If the message is sent as an iMessage then you won’t be getting this kind of message since this can only be received by Apple products. What you should do in this case is to have the sender go to their phone setting and under messages make sure that the option for Sends as SMS ( Send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable. Carrier messaging rates may apply) is turned on.
Note 4 Not Downloading Picture In Text Message
Problem: Good afternoon I have a note 4 galaxy with a picture text message problem, when someone sends me a picture text at 321 KB it says downloading but it stays downloading and it doesn’t open up what can be the problem and how can I delete messages
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to check your phone settings making sure that it is set properly to receive an MMS. To do this you need to follow the steps listed below.
- Make sure that your phone is using the correct APN settings. These setting are unique for each carrier. What you should do is to check what settings your carrier is using and compare this to your phone settings. Make the necessary changes in your phone if necessary.
- Make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription and make sure that the data switch if your phone is set to the on position.
Once the above steps have been checked and you are still not able to download the pictures then you should try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app from the application manager.
Note 4 Very Slow In Sending Text Messages
Problem: My phone is very very slow in sending text messages. The circle goes around and around and around. It probably takes at least 10 minutes for the message to send or it doesn’t go at all. Other people have no problem with sending texts on their Samsung phones which are on the same system. I’ve updated the sim card and am getting my emails faster but still have the delay in sending text messages. Any recommendations?
Solution: The first thing that you should check in this particular case is the network signal that your phone is getting. Are you getting full bars on the signal or is the phone struggling to get a signal? If the signal is weak then this might be the reason why your phone is having a hard time in sending the text message.
If your phone is getting a good signal yet the sending of text messages is slow then you need to proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing each step below immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step in the list.
- Restart your phone. By restarting your phone it will not only refresh the software but its connection to the network as well.
- Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager.
- Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Will Not Text Due To Not Registered On Network Error
Problem: Hi, I emailed you earlier about a problem where my Samsung note 4 will not phone or text. It comes up “not registered on network”. I have since done a factory reset. I still have the problem. I know my sim card is good, as it works fine in my IPhone 4s. I have gone into Network connections as per your instructions, & it says that it has registered my network, but then when I try to phone or text it comes up with “not registered on network” again. Help please!
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and you have checked that the SIM card you are using is working on another phone then there’s a possibility that this is already a hardware related problem possibly caused by the antenna of the phone not getting a good signal. What you should do in this case is to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Text Messages Received Not Showing
Problem: I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and I’ve come into this problem it which my messages I receive will show on the top notif bar, however anytime I try to select reply it wont only let me rid of the notification, but wont let me see the conversation or reply. Any time I try to click on the app itself to see the message the conversation/contact doesn’t even show it’s there. this is extremely frustrating! Should I force stop the messages app?
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to clear the cache and data of the messaging app from the application manager as some corrupt temporary data in the app could be causing this problem. If this fails to fix the problem then the next step is to start your phone in Safe Mode. In his mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by one of the apps you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs at this point then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
