Note 4 Internet Not Working On Wi-Fi

Problem: Tried soft reset but it’s not helping. My router and internet connection are working perfectly on all other devices but on Note 4 when I connect to wifi the internet does not work, even if wifi is connected with full signals. It used to work before but I’m having this problem now for almost 1 month. Please help me.

Solution: To fix this problem the first thing that you should do is to forget this particular Wi-Fi connection from your phone. Restart your phone then connect to the network again. If the problem still persists the proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Can’t Connect To The Internet Without Wi-Fi

Problem: I just signed onto Straight Talk Wireless, but I can’t connect to the Internet without wifi. I was also told by them that the apn should be “reseller” under “reseller”, but when I turn the phone off and go back to look, the bubble next to it is turned off. I can’t send or receive pictures in a text.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to confirm if you have an active mobile data subscription from your carrier. Once you have confirmed this and you are still not able to use your mobile data subscription then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the mobile data switch of the phone is on.
  • Check the APN settings of the phone and make sure that it is correct. The APN settings are different for each carrier so make sure that the phone has the Straight Talk APN settings.

To Access the APN setting of your phone

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu icon.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Scroll to ‘NETWORK CONNECTIONS,’ then tap More networks.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Access Point Names.

The APN Reseller settings are as follows

  • APN RESELLER
  • MMSC http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
  • MMS PROXY proxy.mobile.att.net
  • MMS PORT 80
  • MMS_APN RESELLER

If your phone already has the correct settings and it still can’t use your mobile data subscription then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Solution: What you should do in this particular case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done make sure that the phone has the correct APN settings.

Note 4 Data Reception Is Poor

Problem: I had just replaced my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 usb charging port last week and noticed that my reception was really poor. I checked all the settings and I couldn’t get pass E/GSM having 4G/LTE in the area. I also swapped my sim card to a tablet and the network was fine. So my sim card definitely wasn’t faulty here. Please advise if it is a hardware issue. Thanks.

Solution: It’s possible that this is already a hardware related issue since this occurred right after you replaced the charging port. The antenna of the phone might have been affected during the port replacement. What you will need to do in this case is to rule out any software glitches that could be causing the problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still persists then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Wi-Fi Does Not Turn On

Problem: Wifi wont turn on very dim green wifi bar when looking at it but wifi won’t turn on or connect

Solution: It looks like this might already be a hardware related problem. You can check if this issue is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still remains after this then this is most likely a hardware issue already in which case you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Network Only Working On 2G

Problem: My phone network is not working with 4G and 3G It’s only working with 2G ,I have tried factory reset, change the sim, But still the same.I think my sim is ok because it’s working in other phones. Kindly help me get my network back on the phone. Thank you.

Solution: What you should do in this case is to go to your phone network mode setting and make sure that it is set to use the LTE network.

  • Tap Settings.
  • Scroll to ‘NETWORK CONNECTIONS,’ then tap More networks.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Network mode.
  • Tap the LTE / WCDMA / GSM (auto connect) setting

Note 4 Bluetooth Keeps On Disconnecting

Problem: The problem with my note 4 started about a over a year ago. It doesn’t matter what bluetooth device I try (head sets or bluetooth speakers like UE), the bluetooth connection stays on for about 30 seconds, then disconnects and I have to reconnect manually. This only happens when listening to music or streaming from YouTube or Netflix. I have tried all the tricks mentioned on the internet to no avail. From cleaning the cache to clearing the RAM to deleting all Bluetooth devices from the phone and retrying one by one to find the culprit to removing all the apps that I installed myself you see if one of them is causing the problem.

Solution: Try to check if the issue occurs when your phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then the problem could be caused by one of the apps that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
