S7 Edge Resets The Settings On Its Own

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge and in the past few months, it’s started to reset things on its own. For example, I’ll wake up and the lock screen wallpaper has changed, as well as the ringtone. As far as I know, it doesn’t delete any contacts or anything like that but it’s still annoying that I have to spend 10 minutes resetting my phone to the way I like it

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if a third party app you installed is causing the problem. Start your phone in Safe Mode then observe it the issue will occur in this mode. You should run your phone in this mode for a day or two. If the issue does not occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Edge Two Messages And Phone Apps After Software Update

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge recently performed a software update and is now at version G935W8VLU2BQB6. Since this system update, I now have two “messages” and “phone” apps listed in my list of apps. How would i remove one each of these?

Solution: You should try restarting your phone first then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this problem is most likely caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone. You should backup your phone data then do a factory reset if this is the case.

S7 Edge Unfortunately Google Play Services Has Stopped Error

Problem: Keep getting google play services and Android wear has stopped pop up messages after updating to nougat 7.01. Appreciate your advice on how I can fix this annoying problem. The phone and the android watch is functioning fine except for this annoying recurring pop up error messages.

Solution: To fix the Google Play Services has stopped error go to the application manager then force stop the Google Play services app. Once this is done clear the cache of the app. You should also do the same procedure for the Google Services Framework app. Restart the phone after this.

To fix the Android Wear has stopped error you also need to go to the application manager the clear the cache and data of the Android Wear app.

If the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above the next thing to do is to check if a third party app you downloaded is causing the problem. Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then there’s a possibility that an app you installed is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

S7 Locked Due To Not Use For 24 Hours

Problem: My phone won’t open, it says as I’ve not used my phone in 24 hrs I have to use password but it won’t accept that either it keeps saying its wrong. I have used my phone within 24 hrs I’ve tried all the things suggested but nothing has worked

Solution: You will have to manually enter the pin or password to your device in this case. If it isn’t accepting the pin or password then you can access it by using the Google account that is connected to the phone. If this doesn’t work then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode then set up your phone again. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S7 Reset Without The Use Of Power Button

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy Edge 7, the power button on the side got stuck in a long time ago and I haven’t been able to use it since. Other than just having to let my phone’s screen go black on it’s own, it’s never been a problem. Then the little prongs inside the charging port got bent when I tried to charge it once and I could never fix them so I bought a wireless pad charger. Again, no problem since. Now… I accidentally let my phone die completely and I can’t get it to charge. I set it on the charger pad and it acts like it’s charging, starts to boot up, briefly my home lock screen appears, but then immediately dies and starts this process over and over and over again. Is there a way to do a reset or something without the power button? Any tips on what I should try?

Solution: Right now there’s no way of resetting your phone unless you get the power button fixed. You can try using Android Manager to access your phone but you will only be able to erase your phone using this tool and it can only be used if the phone is turned on and connected to the Internet.

S7 Edge Stuck In Software Update

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge searched for updates and i agreed to install them, it has however been stuck on 23% for hours and there is no movement in the screen at all, i’ve tried to reset the phone but it is not responding, please help?

Solution: Try simulating a battery pull on your phone by pressing and holding both the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Once you phone starts I recommend that you backup it data then do a factory reset. After the reset has completed manually check for the software update again.
