S6 Randomly Restarts Freezes
Problem: My S6 will run very sluggish and freeze up, then it will randomly restart itself. Last time it crashed it stopped learning words I text, even if I add them to the phone. So it has to re learn the words every time. It crashed again tonight and this time I can’t use swipe text and the suggested words bar above the keyboard is gone, and autocorrect is no longer working.
Solution: If your phone crashes and freezes most of the time then there’s a possibility that it is caused by some software glitch. Listed below are some of the troubleshooting steps that you need to perform to fix this problem. After performing a step check if the issue still occurs and if it does then move to the next step.
- The first thing you should do is to check if a third party app you installed is causing the problem. To verify if this is the case start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then an app you downloaded could be causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Shoes Startup Logo Then Goes Blank
Problem: Hi, My phone starts, shows the Samsung S6 Logo and then screen goes blank. I used ODIN to reinstall the OS on my Samsung S6. After successful installation, it updates all apps. and then stays on the Updating Apps screen forever. When i try to forcibly restart it, it goes back to the original state as mentioned above in line 1. I have also tried to do a Wipe Data and also a Factory reset, but after successfully doing that, it goes back to the initial problem when restarted. PLS NOTE : I am not sure of what Android version is on the phone so i selected Lollipop version randomly in your selection form below. Please help. thanks, rohit.
Solution: Since the issue still occurs even after flashing the phone software then this looks like a hardware related problem already. The first thing to suspect in this case is if the battery is causing this problem. Connect your phone to its charger then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then you should try to have the battery replaced. If the issue still occurs even when the phone is connected to its charger then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work.
S6 Not Turning On Blue Light Steady
Problem: i hooked my s6 up to a charger that i have used regularly. went to get it off the charger a half hour later, the blue light is on at the top, not flashing. the screen wont turn on. i tried a reset holding volume down and power. no dice. i did notice the screen having a flash every minute or so of green bars at the top and bottom and white between them. only flashes on the left side of the screen to about a third of the way across then goes out.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by some software glitch. Before doing the troubleshooting charge your phone again for at least 20 minutes. Make sure to use a charging cord and wall charger that works. You should also try charging your phone from a computer USB port.
Once you have charged the battery try simulating a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should reboot after this. If it doesn’t reboot then check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. In this mode there are two things that you can do.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
- Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue. I recommend bringing the phone to a service center and having it checked.
S6 Only Charges With Samsung Charger
Problem: Hello! My problem seems to be that my Galaxy S6, which worked for over a year with no problems, will now only charge with my two Samsung branded high speed chargers, or a USB line direct from a computer. It doesn’t make a difference which outlets or USB cables I use, but any other chargers (from portable to plug-in) don’t register as having been plugged in, and don’t charge.
Solution: Have you tried to check if your other chargers work with other devices? If they work then it’s possible that the problem could be caused by a charging port issue. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that’s stuck in the port as this could cause charging problems. If the issue still occurs then you should consider doing a factory reset to check if a software glitch is causing this problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Screen Is Flashing After Getting Wet
Problem: my samsung galaxy s6 got submerged in water for around 30 seconds. i shook the phone so water fell out and i also dried it and took out the sim. the phone has been flashing since and the screen keeps going black and green. i have put it in dry rice oatmeal but will the phone be okay? how long do i leave it in the oatmeal and rice mixture.
Solution: You need to place your phone in a bag of rice for 48 hours which should be enough time for the moisture inside the phone to be absorbed. If the issue still persists after this then your phone might have some water damaged components. It’s best to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
S6 Screen Is Black After Phone Drop
Problem: I dropped my GS6. The screen went black and the LED Lights were turned on with the Blue light flashing between dark and light blue. I tried pressing the power, home, and volume buttons and nothing. It is just an all black screen with that flashing Blue notification light.
Solution: Try starting the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I recommend you do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset erases your phone data. If the screen is still black even in recovery mode then there’s a possibility that the drop has damaged the display. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Stuck On T-Mobile Screen
Problem: Hi, I recently bought the Samsung galaxy S6 from someone. Last night I uploaded the usual apps one being Instagram. This morning I clicked on the app and it told me it had stopped working. I went to the google store and it told me it also had stopped working. I restarted the phone and it came up the t mobile screen and got stuck on this for the past hour. I went online and tried to manually reset by pressing the down key and the power key and it restarted and continues to not go past the t mobile screen. I have tried all the keys and pressed down to restart and still nothing it stays on t mobile
Solution: Since this is a newly acquired device then the best thing you can do is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. If the issue still remains after the reset then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which should also have the instructions on how to flash your phone.
