S7 Edge Freezes On Boot Screen

Problem: when turning my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge on it sometimes freezes on the samsung galaxy edge start up screen and when the phone eventually comes on it will then do this process again and get stuck on the samsung screen again. However it can go days working perfectly with no issues. Don’t really want to have to send the phone away for repair if i don’t need to.

Related Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Had it for 8 months. A few weeks ago it started lagging and over time it got worse. Then yesterday it was lagging more than usual and eventually it started restarting itself over and over again, until it wouldnt turn on anymore and now the screen is completely blank. It’ll restart then freeze on the start up screen and that’s about all. Please help me identify what’s wrong and how may I fix it. Thank you

Solution: You don’t necessarily have to send in the phone for repair especially if the problem is just caused by some software glitch. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem. After performing each step immediately check if the issue occurs. If it does then move to the next step.

  • Sometimes a corrupted microSD card can cause this kind of problem. If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Edge Intermittent Moisture Has Been Detected Error

Problem: Hi my s7 edge is not charging correctly and i’m intermittently getting a box come up saying moisture has been detected, and to check the usb/charger port is dry. My phone has not been anywhere near any moisture and its really annoying me. The handset is about 8 months old and other than this it’s been perfect with no issues at all. Can u help me please?

Solution: If your phone has not gotten wet then you should start the troubleshooting by replacing the charging cord that you are using then the wall charger.

If the issue persists then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any possible build up of moisture inside the charging port.
  • Place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 24 hours.

Once you have performed the steps listed above try charging your phone. If the issue persists then you should check if this is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Keeps Turning On And Off

Problem: The phone continuously turns off and on by itself. I have followed the steps and did the factory reset but the phone is still continuing to turn off and on. Doing so is not allowing the phone to complete the factory reset/restore after the reset. Stuck on ” preparing device for first time use. This may take up to 3-4 min.” how could i fix this. Im somewhat experienced with things like this so a list of steps would help.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this could be causing the problem. If you phone doesn’t have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even with the card removed then you need to start the phone in recovery mode and from here wipe the cache partition of the phone first. If this doesn’t work then do a factory reset also in recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Apps Closes Charging Takes Too Long

Problem: I just recent switched from iPhone to Samsung back in October. I had few problems with the new s7 Edge, firstly my touch ID wasn’t getting my ID all the time. My apps would contently shut down unspeakably. Lastly the charing would take so long it would take up to 6 hours to charge fully. I have restarting my phone multiple times , that didn’t help. I have no idea what to do anymore.

Solution: The best way to proceed in this case, since it appears your phone is having multiple issues, is to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. One the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if any of the issue still occur. If it does then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Blue LED Light Screen Is Blank

Problem: S7 edge had moisture detected unable to charge. Which got resolved by changing a charger. But now screen has gone blank with blue led light constantly on. Tired vol up with power button. Can you help.

Solution: Try simulating a battery pull by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the problem persists then check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. From here I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that your phone data will be erased in the process. If this doesn’t fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
