S7 Freezing In Samsung Screen
Problem: Crashed and automatically restarted but then froze on the restart screen. I tried to restart it by pressing the power and volume down keys and even though it did manage to restart, it kept freezing on the Samsung screen. I did that about 5 times and left it for a while but nothing happened just the same screen. Now the battery has drained and when i put it to charge, the charge sign keeps coming and going in 10 second intervals and it is not charging. How do I fix this problem? Thank you
Solution: You will need to charge the phone first in order to troubleshoot it. To fix the charging issue that the phone is experiencing try to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone.
- Try using a different wall charger.
- If you have a wireless charger then try using it to charge your phone.
If the charging issue persists then you need to have this checked at a service center.
If your charging issue is fixed then proceed with troubleshooting the freezing problem.
- Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it.
- Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data.
S7 Stuck In Odin Mode Not Charging
Problem: My phone started up in ODIN mode and I can’t get it to charge on any outlet or usb drive. I plug it in on a usb drive and it is not recognizing the usb drive and or any driver try to install to troubleshoot it. Not sure what the deal is but each troubleshoot thing i do seems to run into a dead end.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first with a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. You should also try using different charging cords and wall chargers to charge your phone. If it still does not charge then you should have the charging port of your phone checked at a service center as this might also be the reason why the phone is stuck in Odin mode.
S7 Gets Very Hot And Freezes
Problem: My partner has a galaxy s7 and recently it has got very hot, freezes and can’t turn on tried factory reset and restarting it let it cool down and do the whole holding the power button home button and volume up and still freezes or crashes and then stuck on a loop the phone provider (carphone warehouse) said they won’t do anything as it’s not insured. Need to fix this as soon asap as we are really getting fed up
Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? This could contribute to the freezing and heat problem of the device especially if this card has corrupt sectors. Try removing the card if your phone has one.
The next step is to check if the phone software is causing the issue by following the steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Does the phone still freeze and overheat when in this mode? If it doesn’t then it’s possible that it could be caused by an app you installed.Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partion of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Try doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could be a hardware related issue.
S7 Freezes When Screen Times Out
Problem: I’m having issues with every time my phone times out and I press the button and swipe the screen to go back into my phone everything is Frozen On It. I have to power off my phone and turn it back on and then I’m able to do something but once it times out again have to power it off again. I read some of the other issues I’ve tried factory reset and pretty much everything except for the hard reset. So, I was hoping there was a fix before I had to take that route.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD installed? If it does then this might be causing the problem. Try removing this card.
If the issue persists and since you have already performed a factory reset then this could already be a hardware issue in which case you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Not Responding
Problem: My phone does not respond to any reboot using any of the reboot/ reset options combinations. There are no battery lights whether plugged in for 2 days or 1 hour. I was dropped 7 months ago and cracked the screen
Solution: For this particular issue you need to make sure first that the battery has sufficient charge. Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. If no charging indicator is present then ty using different charging cords and wall chargers.
If the phone remains unresponsive then I suggest that you bring it to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Crashed Does Not Start
Problem: Galaxy s7, Crashed, tried soft reset, worked for a short period then locked up again, phone now has a black screen and a solid blue led, I’ve tried following your steps on holding home button and vol up buttons then power but nothing shows on screen, the phone is 50% charged. Please help if you can
Solution: Try connecting the phone to its charger then start the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If you are unable to access the recovery mode or if the issue still occurs even after a reset then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
