S6 Edge Freezes After Starting

Problem: I have rebooted my s6 edge and done the catch clear and reboot. The phone turns on but freezes after 2 minutes. When plugged in charging as well the phone freezes so having to reboot the phone every time. Anything else I can try? Not sure of the android version. Thank you

Solution: What you should do first in this situation is to check if the problem is caused by some software glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. Check if the issue still occurs after performing one step then move to the next if it still does.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When your phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. This makes it easier to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps don’t fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Split Screen Keeps Activating

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge keeps flipping between what application I’m in and trying to split the screen even though I’ve never enabled that feature. In doing so it causes the phone to thump and it causes the battery to begin to overheat. I took it to the AT&T store and was told to try and Purge some data to free up space. I did this but it did not solve the problem. How do I stop this from happening?

Solution: You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset for this type of problem. Once the reset is complete don’t install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.  If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Constant Boot Loop

Problem: Hello, I am experiencing a constant Boot Loop with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. I performed all the steps suggested on your website, including Performing a Master Reset, and still the issue persists. Solution: If the factory reset fails to fix this problem then one other thing you should consider is to manually flash the phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online. If this still fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Not Switching On After Getting Wet

Problem: My samsung galaxy s6 edge fell inside a pool and when i try switching it on it appear and goes off but when someone tried calling me it comes but can’t pick up as the screen turns black sometimes it comes and go. When i charge it fully charged and try switching it on again it won’t even switch on again. Please kindly help me

Solution: Some water might have entered the phone causing some erratic performance to some of the internal components of the device. What you should do first in this case is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Keeps On Rebooting

Problem: hello. i have samsung galaxy s6 edge. from the last couple of days, i am facing the problem of rebooting of the phone. I have done everything to cure it like master reset, wiping the cache memory out but still i am facing the same problem. i thought it might be the battery issue but when i connect to the charger still i am facing the same issue. kindly help me out. thank you

Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset which failed to fix the problem then chances are this could already be a hardware related problem. You should however consider flashing your phone with an updated firmware file to check if the problem is caused by the current software installation of your phone. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If flashing the phone fails to fix the problem then you should have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Pink Horizontal Line Appears In Screen

Problem: My phone has also an horizontal line appear I tried so many times to turn off..and turn it again but pink horizontal line still appearing..I was thinking that may be there will be a problem on my screen.. my screen is ok..only the pink horizontal line will bothered me and it so disgusting…. Will you please assist me on what to do with this problem….

Solution: Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the pink line still appears then this could be caused by a damaged display assembly. If this is the case then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Not Able To Install Latest Software Updates

Problem: Hi, My phone (S6 EDGE – SM-G925F)  is not able to install the latest Android update. Version: G925FXXU4DPJG/G925FVFG4DPJG/G925FXXU4DPIT (size 157.52MB). It stucks on update process on 25%, hangs there for a moment and then restarts, saying that failed to update firmware. Last time it was updated was around September 2016. Since then I wasn’t able to install the software updates because of this problem. I appreciate any suggestions.

Solution: It’s possible that this could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. Try updating your phone using Kies. If the update still fails then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete perform the software update again.

S6 Edge Not Getting Software Update

Problem: Hi, I bought my samsung s6 edge (unlocked at&t) in the states, but live in Israel (using a local sim) I have not been able to update the software from 5.1 to current 6.1. When I check for software update, I get a reply that the phone is up to date (although it is running android 5.1. Baseband version: G925AUCU3BOJ7) How can I update the software?..

Solution: There are certain conditions that must be met by your phone before it can get the latest updates.

  • Your phone must not be rooted.
  • Your phone must be running on its official software.
  • If the phone has been unlocked then it should be running on its original network to be able to access the update servers.

Since this is originally an AT&T phone  and you are using it on a different network then this is the most likely reason why you are not getting the update.

Try updating the phone software using Kies. If the phone still doesn’t get the updates then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your phone.
