S6 Edge Only Charges Using USB Port

Problem: My phone usually charges with no issues but last night randomly it wouldn’t charge when I plugged it into the wall. Phone didnt even react to being plugged in, tried different chargers to the same result. However when I plugged it into my friends ps4’s USB port it would charge, and when i was home it would charge when plugged into my xbox one’s usb port but still not when plugged into any charger i could find that I knew for a fact were working yesterday.

Solution: It looks like there’s a problem with the fast charging PIN of the charging port. This port has separate pins that handles data, slow charging ( using a USB port), and fast charging ( using a wall charger). Try cleaning this port first using a can of compressed air as some dirt or debris might just be blocking the fast charging pin. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging you phone.

If the issue still persists then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Quit Charging

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge was working fine during the day, and then this evening it started to act all weird. It started to glitch between two apps that were in current use. It then started to glitch to the screen saver of colors. This happened multiple times and then it quit charging. I’ve tried multiple charging cords to see if it was the cord, and even a different adapter. It still wouldn’t charge. I have no idea what’s happening and if you could help that would be great!!

Solution: Before doing any troubleshooting make sure that the charging port is clear of any dirt or debris by cleaning it using a can of compressed air. Once this is done check if the phone can charge from a USB port of your computer. If it charges this way then there might be an issue with one of the pins of the charging port ( you will need to have this checked at a service center). If the phone still does not charge when plugged to a USB port then the following might be causing this problem.

  • A defective battery
  • A defective charging port
  • A busted power IC

If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center for checking.

Problem: Hello The Droid Guy..I have read a lot of your solutions about Android problems.. And that’s all are great..!! Todays I have problem with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge And the problem is at the first my phone keep shutdowns by itself and then the phone won’t turn on if I don’t plug in the charger after several times shutdowns itself.. And then my battery getting random percentage and I think the problem is the battery.. But when I plugin the charger the phone can turn on but sometimes if I touch the screen or operate the phone it will restart by itself..

Solution: What you need to do first in this particular problem is to verify if a glitch in the phone software is the culprit. To do this you have to perform a factory reset. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Related Problem: Hi, My phone was on charge overnight last night whilst off. This morning when I picked it up it said it was at 100%. I unplugged it and tried to turn it on, however nothing happened. I have tried to reset it using the power button, volume up button and home button but nothing is happening.
