In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 5 not charging after getting wet issue & other related problems.

Note 5 Not Charging After Getting Wet
Problem: Fell in the pool and after drying, the phone would not charge as will only be in 0% ,would start up and off back and also the backlight is always on and wouldn’t go off.
Solution: Since this phone fell in the pool you have to make sure that the internal components are free from any moisture. Place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside your phone. Once this is done clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Try charging the phone. If it still doesn’t charge then try using different charging cords and wall chargers.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Not Charging
Problem: Good Day! Hi! Last night before I go to bed, I put my Samsung N5 to fast charging since it’s only 13% battery low. But when I woke up early this morning, I found it totally drained and didn’t turn it on anymore. I also tried to charge it again but there’s no any sign of charging. What seems to be the problem?? Kindly help me to fix it. Thank You.
Solution: Try pressing and holding both the power and volume button for at least 10 seconds. This will allow the phone to restart. If the issue remains then try cleaning the charging port of the phone as sometimes dirt or debris stuck in it can cause charging problems. Use a can of compressed air when cleaning the port. You should also try using different charging cords and wall chargers to charge the phone. If the problem persists then I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Stuck In Boot Loop
Problem: I bought a note 5 from Verizon for $50. Guy told me he tried to root it and he didn’t really know what he was doing so now it is stuck in boot-loop. So I followed your guys guide for boot loop and got to step #4. I don’t think he removed the google account cuz everything I have tried is not working. Including Odin firmware flash. The FRP I think is what is giving me this problem but don’t know a way around it.
Solution: If the phone has its factory reset protection enabled then you should ask the previous owner for username and password of the previous Google account that was used in the device before it was factory reset. If you can’t obtain this information then there is one other way to bypass the FRP. Note 5 Turns Off With Battery Life Left
Problem: So for the past two days, my phone will go from 20% to turning off in a matter of minutes. Then when I plug it in, it says its has 18% battery life. It’s never done this before.
Solution: The first thing you should do in this case is to check if the phone software is causing this issue by following the steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If after performing the steps listed above you are still having the same problem then your phone might need a battery replacement. Have this checked at a service center.
Note 5 Makes Charging Beeping Sound When Not Charging
Problem: my note 5 has recently been acting very strange, like when not charging it keeps making the charging beep sound, and also the home screen will rotate when the phone is turned upside down which has never happened before, the screen also turns on and off when it’s left to idle. any help would be great thanks
Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by an issue with the charging port. Try cleaning the port first with a can of compressed air then check if the issue still remains. If it does then you should consider doing a factory reset to eliminate any software related causes. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the problem persists then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Stuck In Red Verizon Screen After System Update
Problem: This morning I received a prompt to accept a system update. I pressed Install Now, and my phone has now been stuck on the red verizon screen for 2.5 hours! I cannot perform a reset of any kind, because my phone will not power down! Help, Please! I have stage iv cancer, and this phone is my lifeline. I need to be able to reach my drs and call 911 if there is an emergency and i cannot do anything at the moment.
Solution: You should try forcing the phone to restart by pressing and holding both the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If the phone doesn’t turn off and restart at all then you need to wait until the battery becomes empty. You phone will switch off on its own. When it does proceed with charging it for at least 20 minutes before turning it on.
