Note 4 Server Error Restart Camera

Problem: I have a Samsung SM-N910A started using 2 weeks now. The camera was working fine until today I am seeing a message when I load the camera stating “server error restart camera” the selfie portion works fine!! I did a soft reset,no help there. I cleared the cache and data. Tried safe mode. Reboot from system. Problem still exists. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you do have one then try removing it first then check if the issue still occurs. If your phone doesn’t have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even when the microSD card is removed then you should proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the issue still remains even after performing a reset then this could already be an issue cause by a faulty camera module. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Camera Keeps On Refocusing

Problem: The camera keeps refocusing, in camera and video mode. Therefore videos suck because the picture keeps going blurry and back to focused. I’ve tried adjusting different settings, like the matrix/spot options and it still does this. It does this in the camera app and inside SnapChat. Help.

Related Problem: This note 4 recently has big problem. 1. It will shut down by itself suddenly, even battery still has about 50%; 2. Oftenly keep reboot; 3. The camera is take much longer time to focus, sometime even cannot focus. I went to Sprint store asked to reset this note 4 reset as a new. I only have WeChat install and do not have any other app installed.

Related Problem: I’ve had 3 Notes – but the Note 4 has a problem camera that I know others have written about.  The closeup focus is non-functional basically.  While doing everything I can do to get a closeup (light, moving the angle, changing settings) I can see a fleeting glimpse of a focused close-up, but it immediately goes away to blurry.  It’s there for a blink.  Any ideas?  THX

Solution: Inspect the camera lens if it is clear from smudges. If necessary clean this lens using a microfiber cloth. You should also try removing the phone case ( if the phone has one) as sometimes this could also cause the issue.

If the problem remains then try the following troubleshooting steps listed  below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the camera app. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Should the issue remain unresolved after performing the steps listed above then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Front Camera Not Taking Clear Pictures

Problem: I love my phone, I love the camera. (Well, the back camera only.) And about the front camera, it doesn’t seem to be in a good quality like how it was before. I’m not sure whether it’s the new update of the phone that caused it to be like that, but the front camera was really good before. But now it’s slow, and it’s not HD, like it’s not clear anymore. Please help!

Solution: Just like the issue we addressed above you should start the troubleshooting by making sure that the front camera lens is clear from smudges. If it isn’t then use a microfiber cloth to clean the lens. If your phone has a screen protector installed then you should try removing this too as it could also cause some quality issues when taking photos.

If the problem persists then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the camera app then try checking if the issue still occurs.
  • Check if the front camera picture size setting is set to the highest setting possible.
  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Camera Failed Error

Problem: My camera was working fine. I did a factory reset. I probably emptied the camera folder. Saved the images to my sd card. Now its saying camera failed. Change storage location. Not for image quality testing. ok for functionality test. I have tried doing factory reset a number of times. But still it isn’t working. I tried starting it in safe mode. Still not working. I removed the sd card and tried all the permutations combinations. I really hope you can help me solve this..

Solution: You have already performed all of the necessary troubleshooting steps that are recommended for this particular issue. Since the problem still persists then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component possibly the camera module. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 4 White Dot Showing In Low Light Photos

Problem: Hi there! I have a Note 4 edge and I have been loving it! There is only one problem, This odd tiny white dot has been showing up in my low light photos lately. It is tiny and really something only I can see but it annoys me. Samsung reps can’t figure it out and want me to send it in for repair but it really isn’t worth it to wait that long and be without a phone. HELP!! Thank you!

Solution: Does the white dot stay in one particular area of the photo? If it doesn’t then this could be caused by light reflection when taking photos. If it does then the problem is caused by the phone camera which should be checked by doing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check the camera lens for any signs of dust. If the dust is outside the lens then you can use a blower to remove it. If the dust is inside the lens then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have the dust removed.
  • Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue remains even after performing the troubleshooting steps listed above then you should have your phone checked at a service center.
