Note 4 Not Sending Text Message With Picture

Problem: When I try to send a text message with a picture, after selecting the picture it sends automatically. If I want to write a message I would have to send a separate text. I want to write a text message along with the picture before sending it, but it doesn’t give me the option. I use to have the option to write a text along with the picture before sending but after updating to this version it doesn’t allow me to do so anymore. I saw that someone else had this issue. the solution guys had was for T Mobile.  I have AT&T. It happens 2 updates ago.

Related Problem: Hello, I’m having issues when sending a picture via text. When I select a picture to send, it automatically sends the picture… Now I’ve read your work around for this but it’s for T-Mobile users.. I’m not with T-Mobile, I’m with AT&T and I have the most current update as well.. Doing a factory reset kind of freaks me out me some reason, I feel like it might mess other things up….!?!… Is there another workaround for this…?  Thanks!

Related Problem: Hello, When attaching a picture to a message the application does not allow me to send the picture and the text as one message. However if it is a new new message i can do this. It just doesn’t allow for to do this for existing conversations. How do i fix this?

Solution: Try checking if a new update is available for your phone and if one is available I suggest that you update your phone software first. If your phone is already running on the latest software version then try the following remedies listed below.

  • When sending a text message with pictures don’t input the recipient first. Add text and photos first then add the recipient.
  • Try unchecking the Voice over LTE feature under the calls setting.
  • Try using a third party messaging app.

Note 4 Text Messages Lags And Freezes

Problem: So text messages lag and freezes and forces to stop when receiving or sending text. It lags and catches itself up and texts repeated words. Shuts down all the time. About to switch to iPhone. This problem has gone on long enough

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app. What this does is it removes the temporary cached data of the app which could be causing the problem.

If the issue persists then try starting the phone in Safe Mode. When your phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Try to check if the text messaging issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider backing up your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Unable To Send Or Receive Group Messages

Problem: Hello, I am having issues with the group message function on my samsung galaxy note 4. I have not been able to receive or send group messages, every time I send a message with multiple recipients the message gets sent as individual text messages; when I get a group message I get a notification that it is in a multimedia message but it gets sent as an individual text to me.

Solution: To be able to send a group message you should make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription and that the mobile data of your phone is switched on. You should also make sure that the APN settings of your phone are the same as the one your carrier is using. If it is different then you should make the necessary changes in your device.

Note 4 Text Messages Cannot Be Found

Problem: My main issue is that I can see my messages come through, but when I go to open them up, sometime they aren’t there. This has been going on for about 4 months. I tried the soft reset button, and it didn’t solve the problem. The second issue is that sometimes my messages come in the wrong order. It seems like I answer the questions before the question is asked. I tried turning the auto date and time on, I don’t know if it has solve the issue yet. My last issue issue that sometimes when I type, my letters seems to freeze. It doesn’t happen all the time; but as I am typing this it’s doing it now. Please help me solve these issues!!! I like my Samsung Note 4, but there are too many issues.

Solution: What you should do  first in this case is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Should the issue persist then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Unfortunately Messaging Has Stopped

Problem: i have note 4 thru sprint. have never had problems till now. recently if i add any new numbers in my phone or try to just text a random number or one tries to text me it wont go thru on either end. i get a message that says “unfortunately messaging has stopped” and that’s it.

Solution: For this particular issue you should try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app. If the issue remains then start the phone in recovery mode and wipe its cache partition. What this does is it removes the temporary system data which could be causing this problem. Should the problem persist then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

The replies come back and I can see those but that doesn’t help me if I can’t remember the text message I sent

Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Not Sending Or Receiving Picture Messages

Problem: Hello. My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 does not receive or send pictures via text messaging. I have attempted the troubleshooting tips listed on your webpage, but have not been able to correct the problem. For me, all I can see is the message size, the date, a white download box, and a time/source entry (i.e. 9:15 AM MMS). I have hit the download box, it shows a downloading bar, but then reverts back to the white box. This is my first android device, so I apologize for a low proficiency level and if I am using incorrect terminology.

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription. You should also make sure that the mobile data switch of your phone is turned on. Aside from this you will also need to make sure that your phone is using the correct APN settings. Compare your phone APN settings to what your network is using. Make the necessary changes in your device if needed.
