S6 Restarts When It Gets Warm
Problem: Restarts when it gets warm. Will work for hours if used lightly… any processor/graphics intensive apps and it only lasts minutes. Plugged in doesn’t make a difference. Safe mode, wiped cache and did full reset… same issue. Started happening out of the blue; no recent updates. No water damage.
Solution: Since you already performed the troubleshooting steps that concentrates mainly on the phone software then this issue could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. It’s possible that the battery might not be holding the recommended change anymore which is the reason why your phone will restart when it gets warm. For this particular issue I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Wouldn’t Turn On And Not Charge
Problem: I’m working on a galaxy s6. It wouldn’t turn on and not charge. I’ve since replaced the battery and now only a blue light is on like it is powered but no response to the phone. What can cause the problem and how can I fix the problem.
Solution: This problem could be caused by several factors. Since you already replaced the battery the next suspect is the power IC. This component regulates the power of the device and if it is faulty then the phone will not start up. Another possible cause is a glitch in the phone software. To test if this is the case you should try starting the phone in recovery mode. If the phone is able to start in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. If the phone still does not start then I suggest you have this checked at a service center.
S6 Switches Off Turn On Only Up To Samsung Logo
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy s6 has been switching itself for 1 day then today it turned off and won’t turn back on fully it loads up to Samsung then switches off again. I’ve tried clearing cache partition also factory/data reset and still not working
Solution: Try connecting the phone to its charger then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it’s possible that a faulty battery is causing this problem. You will have to replace this battery. Should the problem persist then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Does Not Charge
Problem: Hi, i am having an issue with charging my Samsung s6. My issue with the phone is that when it was completely dead i went to go and charge it with the charger that came with the phone and when i did that it showed the lighting bolt charging symbol but it would not charge and it would stay at 0%. If there is any way you can help me that would be great. Thanks.
Solution: Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed as this could cause charging problems.
- Try charging your phone using a different charging cord. This cord gets easily broken and the one you are using could already be defective.
- Try using a different wall charger.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this problem could be caused by a faulty battery.
S6 Reboot Loop
Problem: I have tried everything except restore factory settings to get my phone out of the reboot loop and in safe mode it starts up then freezes after a few seconds and starts back in the loop, same with wiping the cache. Any other options other than wiping the whole phone? or a way to backup my phone and then wipe it?
Solution: You could try connecting the phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then use the software to backup your phone data. Once this is done you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode.
S6 Shutting Off For No Reason
Problem: My phone (Galaxy S6 active) just recently starting shutting off for no apparent reason. Everything freezes, the phone shuts off a restarts itself. Usually with a much lower battery percentage, or when it’s on the charger and it does this, it will say it has 37 minutes left to charge with 20 or so %
Solution: You need to check if some software glitch is causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Sometimes a corrupt system data can cause this problem. Start your phone in recovery mode then select wipe cache partition. This deletes the temporary data of your phone. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Stopped Working
Problem: A friend asked me to look at his Galaxy S6 as it suddenly stopped without reason. Sure enough can’t do anything, not even boot in safe mode or anything. Green light comes on or flashes slowly after charging, but no responses to anything, holding any combination buttons down
Solution: What you should do first in this scenario is to make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge. To do this follow the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
- Charge the phone for at least using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Try turning on the phone.
If there is still no response then this could already be caused by a malfunctioning hardware component. I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Dropped my phone down the toilet which had harpic toilet cleaner in, picked phone out within seconds and dried it off. Put in rice for two days now. Put on charger and it’s not doing anything. Could you help me please.
Solution: It’s possible that your phone has already suffered some water damage. To pinpoint the exact components that have been damaged by the water you will have to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Slow Charging Battery Drains Fast
Problem: Hi, soft buttons flicker intermittently, phone very slow to charge and battery runs down very quickly, (from 100% to 0% in 3 – 4 hours) even in power saving mode. Possible cause, I use the phone while running, is in a case but not fully water proofed. Rain water/sweat in phone?
Solution: You will need to check if the phone software is somehow involved in this problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone yet. Try to check if you still experience any of the issues. If the problem persists then your phone might have a weak battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
