S5 Won’t Boot Up
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone and it won’t boot up because it stops on the TMobile screen that is after the Samsung screen. I have tried the soft reboot. I have done the full format and erased the cache. I took the battery out numerous times and then pushed the power button. I have done everything several times and it still hangs up on the T-Mobile screen. I have also tried, numerous times, to put the phone into Safe Mode, but it just won’t go into Safe Mode. I know this is probably a full memory issue because it kept asking me to put apps on my memory card. I think if I could get it into Safe Mode and delete some apps it would fix my problem because I have had this problem before about a year ago. I was able to put it in Safe Mode and delete some apps and did a full format and then it booted right up. I just can’t get it into Safe Mode. Please what else can I do?
Solution: If you already performed a factory reset on the phone as well as erased its cache (which you can do in recovery mode) then there’s no need to access Safe Mode since the apps you downloaded will already be deleted by the reset.
Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this could be the reason why your phone does not boot.
You should also check if the issue occurs while your phone is connected to its charger. If the issue doesn’t occur then you should try replacing the battery as this could be causing the problem.
One other factor that you should consider is that the phone software is corrupt. If this is the case then you should consider flashing an updated stock firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Does Not Charge
Problem: I have Samsung S5 G900F. First problem was been, phone has charging and show lights on the screen when try to Turn on it’s just come to Samsung S5 on the Display and restart that is the first ! But now phone wasn’t charging don’t give any signals vibrate don’t show lights,when button’s holding nothing happens,only when I connect him via USB to my Laptop it says me this QUALCOMM HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7) what is the problem please help me. Solution: It looks like the phone has been hard bricked due to a missing or corrupt Qualcomm driver. When this happens you won’t be able to access the download mode to flash the phone. The best way to fix this is to bring the phone to a service center since you will need to copy the pit and bootloader files of a working S5 unit to your phone which can be easily done at a service center.
S5 Is Not Restarting
Problem: Hello – I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone which is not restarting. I have tried rebooting several ways (by taking out the battery, by holding down the Volume Down Key, Power Key and Home). I have been experiencing this problem for over a month and most of the time I was able to get the phone to start working and to get me to the login screen to enter my code to unlock the phone. Periodically the phone would shut down and restart on its own. However, for the last 36 hours the phone starts gets past the Samsung Galaxy SF screen, past the samsung screen and gets hung up on the TMobile screen. While on this screen the device get HOT. This is where I remove the battery to cool it down and try the process again with no progress. Model: SM G900T3. I am indicating this is a Lollipop version but really not sure how to confirm what Android Version this is. Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you.
Solution: Try replacing the phone battery with a new one then check if the issue still occurs? If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. If it starts in this mode then the problem could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This will erase the temporary system data of your phone which could be causing the problem.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to work then you should try flashing your phone with its updated stock software. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Battery Drains Quickly
Problem: Hello, I need help. So I have this S5 running Cyanogenmod 14.1 and I don’t want to buy another device as I have just gotten the S5. To be clear , I’m not a newbie , I know some things like how to flash custom ROMs and stuff like that. But I am not really an Android expert either. Here is my problem cut down in time frames and events/changes/ resets I have done with the phone. I hope you guys, being experts will understand and be able to help me. Got the S5. Noticed that the battery is draining INSTANTLY. You use the phone for 1 minute with the lowest screen brightness and you lose 1% of battery. It doesn’t “correct” itself though, it just keeps draining the battery like this forever til the phone ‘s on 0% ..alright whatever… I’ll keep using the phone Second day of using the s5 , I am not a fan of touchwiz , I think it lags, so I install Roehsoft RAM EXPANDER (virtual ram expansion app) from the playstore and create a 4 GB swap file on the SD card. I have a class 6 SD card that isn’t the most expensive . WORKS. OMG. I thought the battery was the problem and I have to replace it but it WORKS!!!!! day 3 – I factory reset and repeat the whole process of installing the apps, and also Roehsoft Ram Expander. This app creates virtual ram (makes phone faster). I try it and it works.. But this time it DOESN’T improve battery life or correct performance. Now I’m stuck with the bad battery life again . I have to charge 3 times a day. Please help
Solution: With your phone running on CyanogenMod there are a lot of factors to consider. I suggest you simplify things first by flashing your phone with an updated stock firmware file. Once this is done don’t install anything in your phone just yet. Try to observe first if the battery drain issue still occurs. Take note that if your phone has a microSD card installed I would suggest that you remove this.
If the issue still remains then this could either be caused by a battery or internal hardware problem. Try getting a new battery. If this doesn’t fix the problem then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Does Not Turn On Past The Samsung Logo
Problem: My phone does not turn on past Samsung logo and I know for fact that the battery is fully is charged. When I plug the charger to the phone, the empty charging icon will show up and stay. It won’t go to the next charging icon with the green coloured filled battery. I have tested the battery on a different device and battery is fully charged.
Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when your phone is connected to a charger. If it doesn’t occur then you should try getting a new battery for your phone. Should the issue still remain then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the the next step if the current step you perform fails to fix the problem.
- Remove the battery and microSD card ( if your phone has one installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This erases the temporary system data of the phone. Restart the phone.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get instructions on how to do this from the various popular Android forums online.
S5 Charger Is Not Compatible With This Device Error
Problem: My device will not charge for any charger, unless it feels like it, or so it seems. Is this a charger problem, a phone problem, or a battery problem? It only takes specific chargers, and lately sometimes those don’t work. A message comes up saying that the connected charger is not compatible with this device and charging has stopped because of this.

Solution: This issue is either caused by a problem with the charging port or the charger. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris present in this port. Next, when charging the phone try using a different charging cord. You should also try replacing the battery with a new one to check if this is causing the problem. Should the issue persist then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
