Note 4 Not Turning On After Software Update
Problem: Phone downloaded software update then said it would restart in 5 seconds. It turned off but not back on and when I turn it on the top right corner says recovery booting then the screen turns black with an at&t logo and says installing then it changes to updating with a progress bar. The progress bar hits 100% says update complete and the phone shuts back off. When i turn it back on the same thing happens again.
Solution: It’s possible that some software glitch is causing this issue. The best way to deal with this now is to do the recovery mode troubleshooting. Start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This will erase your phone’s temporary system data. Restart the phone after this then check if it will successfully start, If the issue remains then go back to recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.
Note 4 Stuck In Verizon Screen After Software Update
Problem: Recently received a notification saying there was a new update available. When the update installed it said error. Then rebooted. It did the note 4 screen then Samsung then stuck on the Verizon screen. I did a hardkey reset and nothing is working, HELP!
Solution: Try the following troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem.
- Remove the battery and microSD card ( if you have one installed) of your phone. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Once this is done reinsert the battery and turn on your phone.
- If your phone does not turn on then start it in recovery mode and do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 4 Screen Burn In After Software Update
Problem: I got this 4 month old Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from my Aunt in UAE. She gave me this after she upgraded the software to Marshmallow. She said it was working fine but after the update, it got screen burn in, the phone gets slower from time to time, and SMS sometimes fail to send and receive. I have read a lot of forums regarding the above issues but I do not have the courage to follow them thinking I might totally damage it. Especially the Screen Burn In, it is too noticeable when the screen is white, I can see the ghost image of the keyboard. I already did the factory reset, but to no avail. I am hoping you have a clear step by step solution to the above issues. Hope to hear from you soon. Your assistance is highly appreciated.
Solution: Unfortunately in this case if the screen burn in still appears even after a factory reset then the problem is already caused by the display assembly itself. Super AMOLED screens are more prone to burn in issues than their LCD counterparts. This burn in usually occurs when the display is turned on for an extended period of time at maximum brightness. What happens in this case is that the image that appears on the screen gets burned in. While this doesn’t affect the performance of the phone it can be a distraction when you view the phone. The best way to deal with this issue is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s possible that you will have to replace the whole display assembly.
Note 4 Slow Laggy And Freezes
Problem: For the past few days, my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been experiencing severe problems. As far as I can remember, nothing out of the ordinary was done with it that may have caused it. My phone is very slow and laggy at times, and sometimes temporarily freezes. Another problem is that it often reboots automatically. I’ve done several factory resets and cache wipes. It seems to perform a little better while in safe mode, but will still reboot automatically. I’ve spent hours on the phone with the manufacturer and with my service provider, but none of their solutions have worked yet. My phone’s one-year warranty just ended three weeks ago, but I’ve still got another year in my plan, during which I’ll be making payments on the phone. Any help would be much appreciated.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem.
If your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after removing the microSD card then try checking if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to its charger. If it doesn’t then you should try getting a new battery.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Gets Hot Stuck On Samsung Logo
Problem: Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung Note 4. It suddenly got quite hot and stops at the Samsung Name on the black screen. I already changed for a new battery and tried a factory reset. It also won’t turn off with the power button, just when taking out the battery. This is what I got on the screen when I did this mount thing: Supported API: 3 Manual Mode Applying Multi-CSC Applied the CSC-code Successfully applied mounted/system Verifying DNverity Hash Tree
Solution: This problem is most likely hardware related already. Aside from having the power button fixed there might be another component in your phone that’s faulty and needs to be replaced. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Phone Has Stopped Error After Software Update
Problem: After android 6 was installed on my note 4, I have had to do a factory reset, gone through 3 batteries, had system ui stopped keep popping up. Now when someone calls a popup box says phone has stopped. I have to turn phone off and restart to call out. I have heard it can be contacts, an app problem, clearing out the cache in com.sec.phone. clearing out phone cache, and dialer cache, nothing works. Any ideas?
Solution: Since you already performed all of the troubleshooting steps that needs to be done for this particular problem with no effect then you should try the following additional steps listed below.
- Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it then check if the issue occurs.
- Consider flashing the previous firmware version back to your phone. This will allow you to check if the update is causing the problem.
Note 4 Unfortunately Settings Has Stopped When Turning On Bluetooth
Problem: Hi. Wife’s got a note 4. With the drag down screen I can put the bluetooth on but when I open the settings menu and then press bluetooth an error comes up ” Unfortunately, Settings has stopped” I’ve tried removing the battery and restarting but to no avail. Can you help. Thanks.
Solution: Wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode usually works in this particular case. If the issue persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
