Note 4 Internet Not Available
Problem: After my phone automatically installed, I was getting severe connection problems. I would get an error probably 4 times or of 5 about Internet not being available. If I refreshed several times it would eventually work. After the auto install of a subsequent patch, this improved a great deal but now I still have a connectivity issue when I have both wifi and mobile data switched on, but my wifi is not connected. Rather than using my mobile data, it says there is no internet. Once I switch off wifi it works. So there is a workaround but it is a nuisance. Three other issues have appeared with marshmallow: 1) Long-holding the Home button no longer does anything (it used to open Google). I am finding this difficult to live with. 2) my phone has become very slow, especially switching between apps or pressing the Home button. Everyone who tries my phone says I need a new one but I didn’t have the issue pre-marshmallow. 3) Randomly, Play Store is appearing, telling me to install Uber. This happens maybe 40 times a day. Actually this may not be caused by marshmallow, it’s probably my carrier or Google, but started happening at around the same time. Thank you in advance for your support.
Solution: What you should do in this case is to verify if the issue is caused by some form of old software data that got left behind during the update process. This old data will cause a conflict with the new software version resulting in various issues such as this. To check if this is what’s happening right now you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the connection related problem still occurs.
Note 4 Not Connecting To Wi-Fi
Problem: Hi I’ve had my Note 4 for over 2 years now.. Just recently it’s struggling to connect to my wifi and the best mobile data I can get is 3g or H+ which is still very poor and sometimes pointless. I’m with EE in the UK there are no issues with my network or wifi. My phone is in mint condition just old and gets used lots. Is this a common problem and can it be fixed? as I’m waiting for the next note (8?) Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Solution: what you should do first in this case is to check if the issue occurs when you try to connect your phone to other Wi-Fi networks. If it doesn’t occur then the problem could be caused by your Wi-Fi network. If the issue still occurs then try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Delete the Wi-Fi connection from your phone. Restart the phone then search for the Wi-Fi network again then connect to it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem. You should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Signal Drops to 3G When Making Calls
Problem: I’ve been trying to figure out why everyone I make a call my 4g drops to 3g and sometimes the signal bar wouldn’t be full so I’m confused on this situation
Solution: The most likely reason is that your carrier still does not support voice over LTE which is why the data signal drops from 4G to 3G.
If your carrier supports VoLTE then make sure that this setting is activated in your phone.
- Tap Phone > Keypad tab.
- Tap More options > Settings.
- Tap Call > Voice over LTE settings.
- Tap Use VoLTE when available
Note 4 Unstable Data Signal
Problem: Good Evening I am having a very annoying and frustrating problem with my note 4. I have metro pcs this phone is fully unlocked and manufacturer refurbished the problem is that my signal is going crazy it comes and goes my 4G lte come and goes as well i figure that this is network and signal problems but i don’t quite know what to do. Thanks in advance
Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when you are in a different location or area. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by a weak signal in your area.
If the network or signal is not causing this problem then you should try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might already be a hardware issue in which case you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 No Service
Problem: Hi. Can you please help me with my samsung note 4 n910u. I bought it online. The issue in the note 4 is no service, but there’s a time it has signal but cant send messages. Also i cant use data connection. BTW is says at the back of the case in note 4 its OLLEH but the model unit no. is N910u. It’s already MM os. Please do help me.
Solution: For this issue you need to verify first that the SIM card that you are using in the device is indeed working. Once you have made sure that the SIM is working then make sure that the phone has the correct relevant settings.
- Make sure that the message center number is correct.
- Make sure that the APN settings are correct.
Another troubleshooting step that you should consider is to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
