S6 Edge Battery Overheating

Problem: Hi! I always have samsung but this is the first i have problem with my samsung 6 edge. I used this most of the time when while swimming in Blue Lagoon in Iceland. After a while when I was trying to charge the handset, a message popped up informing that the battery is overheating that the charging may pause. I turned off the phone for an hour to cool down but it is still not charging all. Waited for more than few hours, but nothing’s working. But when I plugged in the original cable with its plug, an icon of battery charging appeared. I leave it for about an hour but the battery is still drained. Does the steam from Blue Lagoon affect my phone? Can I still retrieve my once in a lifetime photos stored in the handset? Please help. All of my pictures in Iceland are in this handset. Thank you and more power

Solution: The most common reason why the overheating error will pop up in your phone is if some liquid has entered your device. Since you mentioned that you were swimming in a lagoon then the steam might have entered your phone which in turn affected some component. What you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone is dry by placing it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. After 48 hours try to check if the issue still occurs. You might need to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. If the problem remains then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked since it’s possible that the battery or power IC has been damaged by the moisture.

S6 Edge Charging Not Working After Snow Entered Charging Port

Problem: Hello, I may have gotten a pinch of snow in the charging port, speaker and possibly the aux port, Went home to charge my phone, and it charged for a little then my phone stopped charging. Thought it should dry a little bit before I try to charge it again. Waited like 15 min to charge it. When I tried the second time, I plugged in my fast charger, it vibrated a lot going in and out of charging mode which resulted in fast charging mode to not work and ultimately stopped charging overall. Tried 2 other chargers and get the same response. It will charge for 3 seconds then stop charging. Overall my fast charging wont work. What can I do?

Solution: If snow has entered the charging port then this is just the same as water entering the port. Since water is a good conductor of electricity then this might have caused a short circuit in your charging port. To fix this issue try cleaning the charging port first using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try charging your phone using different charging cords and wall chargers. If the problem remains then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hello. A few days ago my phone was frozen. The screen was completely black but the blue light was blinking. I went to go reboot it, because this has worked for me before. It would not reboot my phone and now the blue light is no longer blinking and I can not reboot my phone by holding any of the buttons down. Nothing will pop up whatsoever. I have charged my phone more than one and even had it charge throughout the night and I still can not get it to respond or do anything. I’m also not exactly sure what android version my phone is but I’m guessing it’s the newest one. Please help me. Thank you

Solution:  It’s very likely that the battery has already drained which is why the phone will not respond anymore. You will want to charge the phone first by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port first using a can of compressed air making sure to take out any dirt or debris stuck in the port.
  • Try charging your phone using different charging cords and wall chargers.
  • Try charging your phone using the USB port of your computer.

If the phone remains unresponsive then you should bring this to a service center ad have it checked.

S6 Edge Heats Up When Charging

Problem: Suddenly shut down while charging then would not turn on. I tried to charge it still but it heats up so fast on only one side. The power on side. I’m afraid it would explode so i did not tried charging it again.

Solution: Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone. If it still heats up and does not turn on then remove it from the charger. This is a potentially dangerous issue as the phone might burn you which is why you should bring it to a service center and have it checked immediately.

S6 Edge Will Not Retain A Charge

Problem: I have a samsung galaxy s6 edge and it will not retain a charge. I plug it in the wall charger and it turns on, gives me a  10-20 seconds window while it loads then tells me i need to charge it but even though it is connected to the wall the battery icon on the top left shows that nothing is charging. I’ve tried a hard reset but nothing has happened.

Solution: Try using a different charger and charging cord then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you might need to have the battery replaced as it might not be holding sufficient charge anymore. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
