One of the older generation smartphones that’s still being used today is the #Samsung #Galaxy #S5. First released in the market in 2014 this phone had an amazing spec sheet back then and was considered a high end model, in fact it was a flagship device of the South Korean giant. While a lot of the newly released smartphone models are much more powerful than the S5 it can still hold its ground as it is still capable of running any task smoothly. There are however instances when certain issues can occur on this phone. This is what we will be addressing today as we tackle the Galaxy S5 stuck on loading screen issue & other related problems.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S5 or any other Android device for that matter then feel free to contact us using this form. S5 Stuck On Loading Screen
Problem: My phone has been running a little slow the last few weeks, but I chalked it up to a pretty full memory and the fact that it hasn’t been off as much as it should have been. I’ve done soft resets when it gets too buggy, but today that seemed to have made the glitch worse. Before the reset today, my phone was loading pages more slowly than normal and refused to find my location data. I performed a soft reset and everything went well, until I arrived at my current problem. Now, the phone is stuck on the loading screen. I can’t soft reset or progress the screen. My current plan is to wait until the battery dies and try and start it up from there, and if that fails, take out the battery and try again. But none of this probably fixes the underlying issue, even if it works. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!
Solution: For this particular issue I suggest that you remove the battery and microSD card ( if you have one installed) then press and hold the power button. This discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Once this is done reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone. If the phone turns on then I recommend that you proceed with backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. This is one of the best solutions to the glitching issue that the phone is experiencing.
In case the phone still gets stuck in the loading screen then you should try to check if it starts in recovery mode. If your phone is able to start in this mode then you should consider doing a factory reset from here. Take note that this reset erases your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first.
If the factory reset fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing the phone with its stock firmware. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Not Charging After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone this morning in a sink full of water and removed it straight away to dry off, it had a 360 protective cover on at the time however there was nothing covering the charging port. The device stayed on but the charging port is water damaged therefore my phone will not charge, and the two touchscreen buttons at the bottom of the device will not work/respond. Using it later on I experienced some difficulties when trying to text etc, things came up on my screen that I was not touching. It is currently in a rice bowl with all the parts separated. Is there anything else I can do that will help? And how long should I leave it in the rice for? Many thanks in advance.
Solution: You are doing the best thing that can be done for a water damaged device. Leave it in the rice bowl for at least 48 hours. The rice will have absorbed any moisture inside the phone by then. Once the 48 hours are finished try checking if the problem still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Portable External Battery Compatibility
Problem: I am sorry to bother you but I am getting increasingly confused on the technology…. So I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, Daughter has the S7. We are going to be travelling a lot and need to find a portable external battery that can charge our phones quickly at least 1 time each during the day. I am not sure if our phones are IQ power etc. Can they Handle 2.1 Amp charging? How about 2.4 Amp charging? or can it do an even higher Amp charging? Looking to buy a unit that can do approx 10000 amps. also looking for recommendations on the USB cords…..shorter the better.. Thanks in advance for your time
Solution: The S5 does not support the quick charge technology that’s found in other devices although the phone can be charged faster by using the correct charger. If you have a charger ( or external battery) that has an output of 1.8A and higher then you will be able to maximize the charging process. Outputs of 2.1A or 2.4A are considered best to attain the maximum possible speed in charging. As for the USB cord to be used in charging any brand would do as long as it is certified to work with the S5.
S5 Goes To Boot Loop After Software Update Unless Connected To Charger
Problem: My daughters phone. Started after a recent software update. Phone goes into a continuous boot loop when not plugging into charger. Phone boots ok with charger. Battery voltage is good. I completed forced reboot, boot in safe mode, delete system cache… none helped. My daughter took it to Samsung tech at best buy he tried home reflash. He also attempted a factory reflash that did not work. Samsung tech told my daughter it’s likely a hardware issue. Do you have any ideas for us. Thanks
Solution: Since troubleshooting the phone software doesn’t fix the problem this could already be caused by a malfunctioning power IC. I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center capable of doing board level repairs and have it checked.
S5 Gets Hot Screen Is Black After Software Update
Problem: HI, I have had my Samsung Galaxy S5 for a little over a year now. It already went through the first update a while ago. And it has been bugging me since last night to a new update. It automatically started the update this morning and, in the process, the screen flickered and went out. And the phone felt like it was overheating. I had to take the battery out and try to turn it back on. I can tell by my notifications that the phone turns back on, but the screen is completely blank now, and the right side of the phone instantly gets hot. Is there anything that I can do to fix this? I dont have the money to buy a new phone, so I need to be able to fix this as soon as possible. Thank you.
Solution: What you will want to do first in this kind of issue is to take out the phone battery and the microSD card (if you have one installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge your phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try turning on your phone.
If the problem persists then you will have to turn on your phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding. This reset is necessary to fix any possible software glitches that may have been caused by the update.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Charges On And Off
Problem: Hey there Droid guy, so my S5 Sport has been flickering the charger on and off lately.. What I mean is, if I ever plug in my phone to the charger, it’ll on some Random occasions charge but go off then charge again. But each time the phone stops charging, it takes off 1℅ on my charger. Lately now, my phone has been being buggy and each time I insert the charger, it’ll charge then start rapidly charging on and off. Each time I take out the charger, the phone will keep on flickering the charging meter on and off. While this happens, the back of the phone will heat up. It’s not the battery because if I take out the battery, it won’t feel hot. I hope this desc. helps because Any sites I visit doesn’t help!
Solution: You will need to clean the charging port of your phone by using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that could be stuck in this port as this can interfere with the charging process. Next, try using a different charging cord and charger when charging your phone. If the issue still remains then this might be caused by a faulty charging port. Have this checked at a service center.
S5 Not Charging When Phone Is On
Problem: When I try to charge my Galaxy S5 it does not charge when its on. When it is turned off and i plug in a charger, the battery with a lightning bolt symbol appears and disappears continuously, vibrating each time it reappears. I’ve tried 4 different chargers, each with different adapters, 4 different outlets and i have cleaned the charge port thoroughly. I did the power button solution when one takes the battery out and hold the button for 1 minute, 3 times and still nothing.
Solution: Try using a new battery in your phone. If the issue still remains then this could be caused by a faulty charging IC. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Not Charging Power Sharing App Error
Problem: Hi, my phone will not charge. A message kept popping up saying that I need to download a power sharing app. I saw that I could reboot my phone, but my phone’s battery was too low to do so. Now my phone is dead and I do not know what to do. Please help me!
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. If there are any dirt or debris in the port make sure that they are removed. Next, charge your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not charge then get a new battery. Charge the phone with the new battery installed and check if the issue still remains. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a damaged charging port. I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.
S5 Blank White Multicolored Screen
Problem: My phone had been fine until yesterday when it started to show a blank white/multicolored screen. I know the phone is still functioning because I have called it and managed to answer it, even though I can’t see anything on the screen. I have tried resetting the phone but when it restarts the screen is just a frozen multicoloured screen. I appreciate any help or advice you can give me with my issue
Solution: There are two way to deal with this issue. First, try starting your phone in Safe Mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem occurs even in Safe Mode then try starting your phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you should do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps don’t work then the display assembly of your phone could be malfunctioning. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
