S5 Keeps On Shutting Down After Software Update
Problem: I performed an update to my samsung s5 on 12/7, and after that my phone started shutting down, while taking, or when it goes to sleep. If I am talking on it, and it goes to sleep, i can continue my conversation but can not disconnect unless the other party does. I did a rest with mycarrier, cleared cache partition with samsung along with other troubleshooting, and still have the same issues. any suggestions. samsung s5
Solution: Since you already performed a reset and cleared the cache partition of the phone then the problem could either be caused by a faulty battery, the update itself, or some internal component of the phone that is failing to work.
Try replacing the battery of your phone first to determine if this is what’s causing the problem. If the issue persists then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated firmware file or the previous firmware version. Instructions on how to flash your specific phone model can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
If the issue still occurs even after flashing the phone software then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S5 Keeps On Crashing
Problem: My cell phone continues to crash. I have had my phone for 1yr and in the past 2 months I keep getting error messages that either the operating system has failed, the apps have failed and other issues as well.
Solution: If you are constantly getting error messages on your phone then the best way to deal with this is to start your phone fresh by doing a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone yet. If you have a microSD card installed in your phone then remove it first. What you will want to do first is to check if the problem still occurs.
S5 Flashing Green Screen
Problem: My phone keeps flashing a green screen. I can still use all my apps, message and call but every so often i get this green flashing light on my screen. I end up using my apps as background because the flashing light overpowering my screen. I have rebooted my phone had everything reset as i was told to do so to fix this problem. But if anything it has now made it worse.
Solution: if a factory reset doesn’t fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty display assembly. I would recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S5 No Marshmallow Update
Problem: My GS5 is stuck in android 5.0 i receive security updates but there’s no update for marshmallow. Is there any way I can fix it. I have a friend of mine we have the same device and model.no. SM G900F and she already has the update.
Solution: There are certain conditions that your phone must meet in order to get the latest software update.
- Your phone must not be rooted.
- Your phone must not be running on a custom software.
- If your phone is an unlocked device then it should be running on its original network to get the update.
If your phone meets the conditions listed above and you are still not getting any update then try the following steps listed below.
- Connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running and let the software perform the update.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Try to check for any updates.
If the above steps fail then you should consider manually flashing the update to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Keeps On Updating
Problem: I bought a refurbished phone online. Since I got it yesterday, at&t has been saying it needs to be updated. It’s updated 7 times now. It keeps restarting, and re updating all 200 something apps. It takes forever. Is this normal?
Solution: This is normal if the phone is still running on an older software version. Just let the phone do the updates. It’s best if you connect the phone to its charger so the phone won’t run out of power in the middle of the update since this could cause issues.
