S5 App System Error
Problem: I updated software for the 3rd time this week…on s5..I now have marshmallow. It has changed behavior of phone. I can not open Daily Audio Bible..a system error come up saying there is problem with content…try later…Never had problem before update Also there’s a huge invasion of ads popping up everywhere…anytime. And lost my ability to pick which browser I open..sometimes I want clean masters browser and sometimes I need to print something so I have to leave CM and open next browser or browser Can u help…ESP with the error problem
Solution: Regarding the issue that you are having with the Daily Audio Bible app do you happen to remember what the exact error is? These app errors that usually occur right after a major software update are usually caused by incompatibility issues. The app that you have right now might still be optimized to work on Lollipop and not on Marshmallow. What you should do is to uninstall the app then install a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
Regarding the apps popping up in your phone this is usually caused by a third party app installed in your device or by some adware that has infected the phone. To troubleshoot this try starting the phone in Safe Mode first then check if the apps still appear in this mode. If they don’t appear then it could be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I highly recommend that you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
S5 Email Not Working After Software Update
Problem: I installed the latest S5 update yesterday and today my email account won’t work. I refresh but it says there are no emails yet I have sent emails to myself to test it and they do not download to my phone yet do to my desktop. I cleared the Cache and Data and reset the email account but there seems to be a problem connecting with the email server. HEEEEELP
Solution: I’m assuming that you are using the stock email app of your phone. For now we can set aside connectivity related problems since it looks like the email can be sent out since you are receiving it on your desktop. For this issue what you should do first is to check the email settings in your phone. Make sure to check the server settings since a wrong setting can cause this problem.
If your email settings are correct then you should try removing the email account from the email app. Once this is done clear the cache and data of the email app then setup your email again.
S5 Can’t Access Gallery
Problem: After updating to Marshmallow I can’t access my Gallery without giving it permission to access my Contacts. I’ve always been able to send photos to anyone on my contacts list so that can’t be the reason, even though I contacted Samsung and that’s what they told me. Is there a way to stop this? Or to go back to a previous version?
Solution: If the phone keeps on asking for permission even after you have allowed it previously then resetting the app preferences. To do this go to Settings then Apps then tap on the menu button of Apps then tap on reset app preferences. Once this is done you will be asked for permission again when you access your Gallery app. Check if the phone only asks you once. If this doesn’t fix the problem then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This reset will delete any old software data in your phone which might be causing the problem.
S5 Pictures Videos Taken Can’t Be Opened
Problem: Every time I take a picture or record a video using my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone it saves the picture or video but when I try to view the image then it just appears as a blank screen which is black and has an exclamation mark on top of what looks like 2 hills in the background. This has been happening for months and i’m not sure what to do. Please advise. Thanks.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card and are the photos and videos saved in this card? If they are then there’s a possibility that the card is corrupt. Try taking out the card. The camera will then switch the default save location to the internal storage of your phone. Try taking a picture or video and check if you are able to access it. If the issue doesn’t occur anymore then I would suggest that you get a new microSD card.
If the phone doesn’t have a microSD card then then this problem might be caused by a glitch in the phone software. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check again if the issue still occurs.
S5 Apps Move Back To Internal Storage When They Update
Problem: I have a galaxy S5 with all the updates. I use a SD card for my apps and photos. Every time one of my SD card apps are updating they are moving back to the internal memory and I need to move them each time manually back to the SD card. Is there any solution? Thanks!
Solution: When an app is updated it will install the fresh version on the phone. By default the installation path is always the internal storage of the device. You will have to manually move the apps again to the external storage once they are updated.
S5 Error 501 When Installing App From Google Play Store
Problem: I have a Samsung 5 and until recently used Whatsapp. This has now disappeared from the phone and I am unable to re-install via Google Play and get error message 501. Since then I have tried to install Instagram but get the same issue and error message 501. Then thirdly the same message comes up when I try to upgrade Facebook. Any suggestions?
Solution: The error 501 that you have on your device can usually be resolved by going into your phone Settings then Application Manager. Look for Google Play Services and Play Store. Tap on clear cache. Once this is done delete your Google account from your phone. Restart your phone then setup your Google account again then let it sync. Try to check if the error still occurs.
