#WhatsApp is one of the most widely used instant messaging apps. While it has some of the features that most new IM apps have, WhatsApp has been somewhat lacking. It took a while for the service to bring features like end-to-end encryption, document sharing, and voice calling. The Facebook-owned app is now enabling support for video calls, as was rumored previously.
The feature will make its way to Android, iOS and Windows smartphones over the coming days, with some lucky users already seeing the feature on their devices. It will be interesting to see if there will be any issues with this feature, as video calling takes some time to perfect. But knowing WhatsApp, we can be assured that the experience will be near perfect, barring any last minute glitches.
WhatsApp has become the source of connectivity for most people around the world. Being one of the world’s most widely used applications, the developers had a responsibility to give their users the best possible features on board.
