Note 4 Freezing Restarting
Problem: Hi, I got a used Note 4 from Kijiji, that soon after started to have freezing and restart issues. It happens with easy tasks, like browsing in settings, or just turn the screen on, there is no any pattern on this. So, I tried to wipe out the cache, factory reset twice, to flash a new firmware with a Fido firmware using Odin, a lot of issues during this process, it fails many times, I recover it with PIT and TWRP files, but nothing. After a successful flash with Fido firmware 6.0.1, on the phone is still old Telus firmware. There is no any app installed on the phone, no sim or sd card, but it still freezes sometimes and become unresponsive for 30 sec or more with a black screen. I don’t know what to do with it, if I can replace that Telus firmware, or the motherboard or eMMC is faulty. I am not a professional in phone repairs, but I have knowledge about electronics. Solution: From the initial troubleshooting steps that you have performed we can safely assume that the issue isn’t software related. This is most likely a hardware related problem already however to be able to pinpoint the exact cause the phone has to be checked at a service center that’s able to perform board level repairs. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone in for repairs.
Note 4 Unfortunately System UI Has Stopped After Software Update
Problem: I am using Galaxy Note 4 but apparently after installing the Mushmellow problems keep coming.The recent problem now is when I am using any apps such as browsing thru my facebook or whatsapp if there happen to be someone calling the phone will freeze and “unfortunately” message will appear on the screen and if I want to do a screenshot than another message of “Unfortunately, system IU has stopped”. Pls advise on how to solve this issue
Solution: Are you using a third party launcher in your phone? If you are then try uninstalling this first. There have been several reports where this error message occurs right after the Marshmallow update and it has been found out that those phones that get this error use a third party launcher. This might be what’s happening in your case right now.
If you don’t have a third party launcher installed or if the issue still occurs after uninstalling the launcher then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try to check if a third party app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- If the problem still occurs in Safe Mode what you should do next is to clear the temporary system cache. To do this start the phone in recovery mode then select the wipe cache partition option.
- If the above steps fail backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Screen Freezes Then Turns Off
Problem: Hi . My galaxy note 4 is having some problems . it started with the screen freezing then switching off . Now it hardly ever comes on and if it does it it only in short periods . It can not be used at all when charging and when charging is complete i have to remove the battery and try to switch on several times before it will work . I have tried to reset and that didn’t work.
Solution: You should try getting a new battery and see if this fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this issue could be caused by an internal component that’s failing to work.
Note 4 Continuously Freezes Restarts
Problem: note 4 continually freezes and resets after latest vzw firmware push. Did master reset, bricked os and was able to recover to vzw firmware, problem persists. Can’t reset without destroying so as it reboots during the factory reset. Hardware is fine on new os until firmware patches.
Solution: There could be an issue with the latest firmware version that’s installed in your phone. I suggest you try to download the previous firmware version and install it in your phone. This way you can check if the problem is indeed software related. If the issue still occurs even with an old firmware version installed in your phone then this could already be a hardware related problem. I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.
Note 4 No Mobile Data Switch
Problem: Hi sorry to bother you, I just got my phone a couple of days ago, but for some reason my phone doesn’t have the button to turn on my mobile data. I looked it up and they all said that there should be a button up in my settings to turn it on. Please help. There’s some places I can’t hook into WiFi to get what I need done.
Solution: To access the mobile switch of your phone make sure that the phone is running in standard mode. Go to the Settings option of your device then go to the Wireless and networks section. Tap on more networks then mobile networks. You will see your mobile data switch here which you can enable or disable.
