The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is an early 2016 flagship model that’s best known for its glass and metal construction. It is a departure from the previous flagship models that used mainly plastic parts. S6 Won’t Turn On

Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. About two weeks ago it started acting weird. The all open app button and the back button at the bottom of the screen quit working. Occasionally I would restart it and it would work again. Eventually it quit working all together. I have started it in safe mode and the issue still occurs. I have done numerous master resets and it also does not fix the issue. I’ve learned to live with it.  Now, just a few hours ago, my phone was in my pocket and when I took it out it appeared as if it was doing a download of some sort. I could see computer language at the top of the screen, seen the android icon guy, and it said downloading. I sat my phone on the night stand and fell asleep. I just woke up and my phone won’t turn on. I googled it and read to do a reset by holding the power button and the volume down button for seven seconds or more. It turned on but as soon as it loaded it immediately restarted. Once it was back up it shut off and hasn’t been able to turn on since. I have been charging it for a good twenty minutes now but it still won’t turn on and shows no sign of charging. The charger definitely works because it is charging my other phone when I plug it in. Before It shut off I did notice it had 30% battery.  Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Solution: This appears to be a hardware related issue already. You should however try to check if this can be fixed on your end first by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that this port does not have any dirt or debris present as this could interfere with the charging process.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging your phone.
  • Try starting your phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that this erases your phone data.

If the above step fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Charging After Using Wet Charging Cord

Problem: My phone charging cord fell into a glass of water while plugged into an outlet. Without thinking, I plugged my phone into charge about an hour after the cord was taken out of water. my phone will not charge with any charger now. A red x appears on the battery when I plug into a charger. It can be used if plugged in but battery is not charging. I have tried several chargers.

Solution: The wet charging cord might have caused a short circuit which damaged either the battery or the charging IC of your phone. The troubleshooting steps that you can do for this particular issue are listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Check if the phone will charge.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if your phone will charge.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Unable To Charge

Problem: Have had my Samsung S6 for approx 9/12 now. Purchased from 3 store.. Unable to charge phone despite using several different chargers. Screen does show symbol of charging and will turn on showing my lock screen but then immediately dims and shuts down once more. Have tried to reboot the phone by holding the power key and volume down button for approx 10seconds to no avail..Any further suggestions please..

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed as this will usually cause charging problems. Once the port is clean try charging your phone. Use different USB cords if necessary.

To check if this issue is caused by a software glitch I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the problem still persist after the reset then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Fast Charging Not Working

Problem: new galaxy s6 active that I just purchased the fast charging stand for from best buy about 3 weeks ago. it has been great until the past few days. now when I place on the stand it only says wirelessly charging instead of fast charging !!! if I unplug the cable from the stand and directly plug into the phone it fast charges fine. is there an issue with these new samsung charging stands ? not sure if I can return to best buy to exchange. thank you

Solution: Since the phone fast charges when the cable is connected straight to it which effectively bypasses the stand then the issue is most likely caused by the fast charging stand. You should however check if another factor is causing this problem by performing the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then an app installed in your phone might be preventing your phone from wirelessly fast charging. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try to enable the Daydream option of your phone from Settings – Display – Daydream. Make sure to choose when charging. This will prevent your phone from sleeping when charging and could fix the problem.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then it could be caused by the wireless fast charging stand.

S6 Charges Very Slow

Problem: Ever since the latest system update today, my phone charges really slowly. On all my chargers. Factory and fast chargers. They’ve all charged rather quickly until now. It is a problem.

Related Problem: Hi there , My S6 was not charging at all….I got a new battery fitted and a new charging port it is charging now but very slow…have tried different chargers that work fine with my wife’s s6

Solution: For this particular issue I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt present in this port. You should also try using different charging cords when charging your phone.

If the issue persists then have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Not Turning On

Problem: My s6 was working but suddenly went and turned black. I had a solid blue light for a while. Woke up in the middle of the night, and it was a blinking blue light. I tried holding all the bottoms as required but nothing happened. It’s still a black screen but with no light on at all. What can I do? Do they have a removable battery? It’s only 1 yr old

Solution: Unfortunately this model does not have a user removable battery. What you can do right now is to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then try to turn it on. If it doesn’t turn on then try to start it in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this action erases your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
