S5 Freezing Not Responding
Problem: hello would really appreciate your help with this! I love my samsung s5 though I have had a few glitches along the way. A few months back, the phone wouldn’t charge so I sent it off for repair and now a couple of months later my screen is freezing and not responding when i try to unlock the screen/ The only way out of this is taking my battery out and putting it back in. It happens about 8-10 times a day and i can’t work out the cause! i factory resetted and it still hasn’t fixed it! i’m not sure if it is a dodgy app or something causing this ! Please help – thanks!
Solution: If the phone still freezes even after doing a factory reset ( with no apps installed yet) then the problem might be hardware related. Does your phone have a microSD card installed? Try removing this card and check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then the card might have some corrupt sectors which causes your phone to freeze and become unresponsive.
If the issue persists then one last troubleshooting step you can do is to flash your phone with its updated stock firmware file. This allows you to check if a corrupt software is causing the problem. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.
S5 Stuck In Download Mode
Problem: Ive had a samsung galaxy s5 in shimmering white which i’ve now given to my friend. I did the factory settings before i gave it to my friend by pushing the volume up button the power off button and the home button at the same time, i selected factory reset and selected yes etc all i’m getting now is a green android man on the screen and it says downloading and do not turn off. Please help me to fix this problem thank you
Solution: When your phone is stuck in the downloading screen what you will want to do first is to remove the battery and microSd card ( if your phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for around a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery ( leave the microSD card out for now) then turn on your phone. In most cases such as this the phone will now be able to boot normally.
If the issue still occurs then I suggest you access the recovery mode again then do the following.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone
- Do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Stuck In Logo
Problem: I’m going to attempt to provide all the info I can, I have never done anything like this: so here it goes. I have a galaxy s5 G900 A and I am really not sure what android version I had (although I choose kit kat). Somewhere there is the word KNOX if that’s important. I was downloading an app and phone went blank. When turned it on was stuck on logo. I cleared the cache (i think that’s the term) and to no avail. Then I did factory re install and it would intermittently come on. And at 1 point it started updating, then shut down. And now I can get it in download mode or it gives me a message to do a phone recovery. Did phone recovery but does not recognize the device. Then I did flash/firmware with AP, CP,CPS but it FAILED. I can still get to the download screen and the recovery. I did Kies3. Not sure if there is anything else I can do, but I want my phone back. Thanks for your time in advance.
Solution: It looks like the phone software is corrupt. Since a factory reset doesn’t fix this issue the best thing to do right now is to flash your phone with its updated firmware file. Make sure to get the correct firmware version for your phone model as a different version will cause errors to occur during flashing. If you are having problems flashing your phone then try using a different computer and USB cord when flashing your device. Refer to the popular Android forums online for the exact procedure in flashing your phone.
S5 Does Not Find Any Software Updates
Problem: Hello, i owned my samsung galaxy s5 a year ago. So my problem is that my phone doesn’t find any software updates. When i click to Software update->Update now nothing happens, only the message “the latest updates have been already installed”. I already tried with kies but same problem. I don’t want to root my phone for the moment, but if that is the only solution i will. I have friends with the same phone and they already have the newest android marshmallow 6.0.1. Please help me!
Solution: To be able to get the software update there are certain conditions that your phone must meet. The device must not be rooted or running on a custom software. Your phone should also be running on its original network. If your phone meets the above conditions and it is still not getting any updates then perform the following steps listed below.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
- Try to check if the update is available via OTA method or by connecting your phone to a computer with Kies running.
If no update is available then you should consider manually flashing the update to your device. Instructions on flashing your phone can be found at several Android forums online.
S5 Unfortunately apps Have Stopped Working Error
Problem: a few days ago i noticed that my phone had gotten very slow, so a friend suggested that i need to clear the cache, from since then, the screen is not coming on and remains blank, with messages saying unfortunately contacts has stopped, google play store has stopped settings has stopped etc.
Solution: For this particular issue you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. The reset will restore your phone to its original condition and is the most effective way in dealing with this problem,
