Note 4 Buggy After Software Update

Problem: Good afternoon,  It’s been awhile since I have done the update and since then my phone is been really buggy. Apps, operating system, everything is slow. It freezes, I’m swiping to unlock and takes a while to follow commands, to take a photo, inside apps, etc. I have removed the microSD and follow your recommendations as well as I did a soft reset and nothing. Is there any way how I can solve this problem? Thank you in advance for your help.

Solution: If the phone freezes and operates slowly right after a software update then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by some form of old software data that ha not been removed during the update process. This old data which has been left behind causes a conflict with the new software version thus causing the phone to freeze or exhibit several issues. The best way to deal with this is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Stuck In Verizon Screen After Doing Update

Problem: While I was sleeping last night my note 4 did a system update. When I woke it was set on verizon red screen and would not go any farther. I cleared the catch with hard keys …still the same. Have to remove battery to shut it down. I removed ad and SIM replaced SIM and still the same. So not wanting to but in did factory reset. Still cannot get past the verizon red screen with 30 percent light. I’m quite upset about this as my phone cost a lot for someone else to destroy. 🙁 any way someone can help me?

Solution: If the factory reset doesn’t fix the problem then it’s very likely that the phone software has been corrupted. For this issue you will need to flash the phone with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Sometimes Gets Stuck In Boot Screen

Problem: First, when I power my phone on after removing the battery, it occasionally gets stuck on either the black “Samsung Galaxy Note 4- Powered by Android” or the Yellow “Sprint”. If it does power up, when I get to the home screen where I have my pattern passcode, it lags when I connect the last 3 or 4 dots to form my security pattern or it just lags altogether. When I click on an app it takes about 5-10 seconds to open the app, and even if it does open it freezes and will sometimes restart itself if it has been frozen for more than 20 seconds.

Solution: The best and quickest way to troubleshoot this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps yet in your phone. If a microSD card is inserted then try removing it. Check if the problem still occurs. Usually, your phone will be operating fine by now. Reinsert the microSD card this time.

If you are still experiencing any of the issues that you mentioned then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Fails To Install Update

Problem: Hi there, I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Sm-910F (Updated on Marshmallow 6.0.1). My phone is facing two issues. One issue is that it download updates then it prompt to restart to install update. Then it restarts, install updates but when restarted again it fails to install updates and give a message whether to send error report to samsung or not? (remember I have plenty of space free in internal storage) The second issue is that I recently liked a page of music on Soundcloud, after that it restarts randomly and now haptic feedback is also gone and in notification panel, easy mode button or icon is mildly yellow that is trying to turn on but cannot. Your help and feedback will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Solution: Just like the issue which we have addressed above the best way to deal with this is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your device just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

Note 4 Not Updating To Marshmallow

Problem: I own a t-mobile Galaxy Note 4, model SM-N910T running on t-mobile network that will not update to Marshmallow, phone keeps saying device is up to date.  I have tried SmartSwitch and kies but phone will not update there either.  I booted the phone in Safe Mode and that does not help either.  T-mobile tech services could not figure out why phone will not update. Thanks for your help.

Solution: Since the phone is running on its original network then there are only two other conditions that needs to be met. Your phone must not be rooted and it must not be running on a custom software for it to be able to get the official updates. If your phone meets these conditions then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check for the update again. If you are still unable to get the update then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Keeps Restarting After Update

Problem: My Samsung note 4 keeps shutting off and tries to restart on its own until I take the battery out. It all started when I did a software update. I had to do a factory reset but didn’t help. I also had it reflashed but started doing it again. Any ideas on what I can do next?

Solution: Try getting a new battery. This way you can check if your current battery is causing the problem. If the issue persists then I suggest that you have this checked at a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs.

Note 4 Shuts Off Often After Update

Problem: After latest update. Phone shuts off. Have to pull the battery to get the phone to turn back on. I have been to sprint and had a factory reset. No sd card installed. Still having the random crash…still have 2 months on contract….do not know what to do.

Related Problem: I have a note 4 and did a update a few weeks ago. Since then, my phone shuts off often. Sometimes it won’t come on at all. I have to remove the battery several times to get it to work. I did a factory reset and that did not help at all.

Solution: Try flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. This is to check if a glitch in the update process is causing this issue. You may also try to flash the previous firmware file back to your phone. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the issue still persists then I suggest you have this checked at a service center.
