#Samsung has just taken the wraps off its newest device, the #GalaxyA8 (2016). This is an upper tier mid-ranged device and could prove to be a popular device given the hardware on board. The phone will only be sold in the South Korean markets for the time being.
The handset is packing a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, the octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and a 3,500 mAh battery. The handset also comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner located underneath the home button. The phone will be sold for 649,000 South Korean Won ($581), making it a fairly expensive smartphone.
As you can see, the hardware is somewhat comparable to last year’s Galaxy S6, S6 edge series of devices, so this is not a new device by any means. But considering the fact that it sports flagship level hardware on board, we’re not too surprised by the pricing quoted by the manufacturer. There’s no word on when the smartphone will hit other markets, but we’re not holding our breath. The phone will be sold in a Blue color variant for now, but more options like Pastel Pink and Silver will be added soon, apparently.
