S5 Screen Flickers Green
Problem: My screen flickers green when I try to unlock my phone and takes several attempts of click and unclicking the lock button to get it on. This used to happen on just low light but now does it on any brightness. I’ve recently bought a new battery to try and solve the problem but it remains unchanged.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to eliminate any software related problems that could be causing this issue. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem might be caused by a damaged display assembly. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S5 White Vertical Line On Screen
Problem: A few days ago a thin vertical white line about a millimeter wide appeared on the left side of my screen. this happened once before about six months ago only the line was Green and it went away in a day or two. this time the line has gotten larger and is now about 1/3 of a centimeter wide. I tried a few things like a soft reset, clearing the cache partition and closing background apps but nothing worked. by the way it’s been really hard to write this report even on my 10 inch tablet because ads that pop up are blocking parts of the form.
Solution: The same troubleshooting steps performed above applies to this problem. You will need to check first if the issue is software related by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. You should first check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that you will need to have the display assembly replaced to get rid of the white line.
S5 Green Vertical Line On Screen
Problem: Hi, I just updated my samsung galaxy s5 and now I have a green line running vertically down the left hand side. It is there always. I have switched off, removed battery and it’s still there. The phone also keeps notifying me “SD Card For transferring photos and media” when I click on this notification it gives me the option to explore or eject.
Solution: Since this problem occured right after a software update I recommend that you backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. This reset will delete any old software data that might not have been removed during the update process. If left behind in the device this old data can cause a conflict with the new software version resulting in various issues. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet. Check first if the issue still occurs. The SD card issue will most likely disappear. The screen issue however is a different story. If you still see the green line then this is probably caused by a damaged display. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.
S5 Screen Flickering
Problem: Screen flickering, even after factory reset performed. Flickers when the screen turns off or on, even at high brightness setting.
Solution: Since this problem occurs even after a factory reset then this might already be caused by a faulty phone display. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S5 Screen Flashes Yellow Or Green
Problem: When I unlock my device the screen flashes either yellow or green. It is not solid, usually lines or dots and the screen goes black before lighting up to show my display.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to verify if this is caused by a software problem. To do this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone. Proceed with checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem could already be caused by the display assembly itself. If you need the issue fixed then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. You will probably need to have the phone display replaced.
S5 Flickers At Low Brightness Level
Problem: Hi, I have a verizon galaxy s5 and my screen would flicker when on lowest brightness also sometimes my screen would go out completely on any brightness and I have to keep pressing the power button till it came back onto normal. I’m using the phone now to type this message but it tends to happen once or twice a day. Plz help thx
Solution: Phone models that use a Super AMOLED screen tend to flicker when the brightness level is set to low. A temporary fix to this is to increase the brightness level. Sometimes, a glitch in the phone software can also cause this issue. To check if this is the case just backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Immediately after the reset check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should have your phone checked at a service center. It’s possible that you will need to have the display assembly of your phone replaced.
