Note 4 Shutting Off
Problem: Hello, a few weeks ago my phone started shutting off and on; it’ll freeze and I’ll get error messages saying a particular app is not responding. I’ve taken the battery out and put back it in, sometimes the green android sign comes up and captions reads, ” downloading please wait” or error. I then take the battery out again and put it back and it loads normally. This time when it shut down it never came back on, tried charging it, it doesn’t give any indication that it’s charging. I even bought a new battery, no luck, please tell me that this is fixable!?
Solution: Since replacing the battery does not fix the problem then there might be another factor involved that’s causing this problem. The first thing that you need to do in this case is to take out the battery and microSD card ( if the phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. What this does is it discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Once finished, reinsert just the battery.
Before turning on the phone you need to charge it first. Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Use a different charging cord and charger when charging the phone for at least 20 minutes. Try to turn on the device.
If the phone still does not turn on then you should have this checked at a service center.
Note 4 Battery Needs To Be Taken Out To Restart
Problem: Hi currently i am using samsung galaxy Note 4 mobile i don’t know what happened to my mobile, if i try to restart my mobile it shuts down but won’t start, if u charge full battery and left it overnight in the morning all battery will be drained i even changed battery of the mobile still facing the same problem, if i turn off my mobile it wont turn on, to turn it on i need to remove the battery and leave it for at least 10 minutes and after inserting battery if i turn on mobile it will turn on, i dont know whats this problem is all about please give me resolution thank you.
Solution: What you need to do in this case is to check if the phone software is somehow causing this problem. To do this you have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your device yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to get this checked at a service center.
Note 4 Will Not Charge When On
Problem: My phone will not charge when on. When it’s off it vibrates continuously and won’t charge. I have to run the reboot and clear cache and then SOMETIMES it will charge. I cleaned the charger port. I have tried new chargers and I have taken the phone apart to make sure the power button wasn’t stuck. And I have no idea what is causing it.
Solution: I see that you have performed most of the required troubleshooting steps needed to be done in this case. Since the problem still remains then the issue could either be caused by a faulty battery or a faulty charging IC. Try getting a new battery and replace the old one your phone is using. If the issue still occurs then I suggest you have this checked at a service center.
Note 4 Is Overheating
Problem: My samsung Galaxy note 4 is doing overheating and this makes it to shutdown down all applications. It is only phone calls and messages I can use it for. This overheating happens less than 3 minutes when I switch on the phone. Also the battery is not charging. The error message is ‘charging paused temperature too high’. I don’t know what to do.
Solution: This is a potentially dangerous issue as it might become a fire hazard. The first thing to suspect in this case is a faulty battery. Ty getting a new battery then check if the same issue still occurs. If it does then the next thing to consider is that a short circuit is causing this issue. This is very likely since the phone is generating an abnormally high amount of heat. I recommend that you have this immediately checked at a service center.
Note 4 Freezes Shuts Off After Software Update
Problem: samsung galaxy note4. updated software a week before problem occurs. latest version says 6.0.1 problem starts sudden shut off, then freeze, hang very often.. then reset to factory and cleared cache. problem still the same. after few days i keep updating the software, now not sure bcoz of that or what, freezing is not happening that often but shut off often. then does not restart from power button. but if everytime i disconnect the battery and put it back after a minute, and then restart it works. but i have to do it many times a day. what can be the reason?
Solution: It looks like the update might have resolved some of the other issues that your phone was experiencing. Since the the issue right now is that the phone shuts off and does not restart unless the battery is removed I recommend that you try to backup your phone data first then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the next thing that you should suspect is the battery. Try getting a new battery and replace the old one your phone is using.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Won’t Turn On Won’t Charge
Problem: My phone won’t turn on at all and it won’t carry a charge. My friend gave me his Note 4 battery and I tried charging it and it won’t budge. The tech as Sprint was super rude and said I needed to just get a new phone. He told me to do a hard reset and I asked him how to do it and I tried and after it crashed and it wont come on again.
Solution: When you used the battery of your friend I assume that your phone will turn on but then it doesn’t charge since you were able to perform a factory reset. While we might be looking at a hardware issue already there are still a few troubleshooting steps that you can do. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first by using a can of compressed air or by blowing into is using a straw. The objective here is to take out any dirt or debris that could be lodged in this port. Next, try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the issue still occurs then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Turn Off When Flash Is Used
Problem: 1. charge the phone to 100 % 2. use the phone to 86 % 3. take a picture with flash 4. phone is dead won’t turn on 5. hook up phone to charger acts like a dead battery 6. charge for 1 min 7 says 86% charged 8 unplug phone it is 86% charged Issue two running at 5.01 under cricket and won’t update at software
Solution: The power issue that your phone is experiencing could be caused by three factors. This could be the phone software, battery, or a failing internal hardware component. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to do in cases such as this.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
- Get a new battery and replace the old one your phone is using.
- Bring your phone to a service center and have it checked since this issue might be caused by a component inside the phone that’s failing.
Regarding the phone not getting any updates you should try to manually check for the update now ( you might see the update now that you have performed a factory reset). If no update is available using the OTA method try to connect your phone to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running then use the software to update your phone.
Note 4 Turns Off Randomly
Problem: I just bought this Note 4 off 5 miles yesterday. Didn’t have any problems with it until today. The phone just turns off randomly, not overheating or lots of apps in the background. Might i have gotten jacked?
Solution: Try backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not instal anything in you phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you might want to bring it back to the store and have it checked.
