We all know how the #Moto360 has redefined the smartwatch market. But did you know that the company was originally contemplating the release of a square display wearable? We must note that the company is no stranger to square display wearables as it has released the MOTOACTV fitness tracker in the markets prior to the release of the Moto 360. However, the company apparently wanted to use the same display (perhaps slightly bigger) for its first smartwatch as well, but changed to the flat tyre design eventually.
As you can see from the images, the design is unflattering and similar to the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live, which were largely unsuccessful given the presence of the Moto 360. Seems like the company took a wise call by sticking to the somewhat circular display of the Moto 360 rather than taking this route. What do you think? Would you have picked the Moto 360 if it had a square display?
